Okay so I want to go into finance/investment banking and I want to apply to a school that will give me opportunities to break into the field. I really dont care where I go, I can fit in anywhere. Would it make that big of a difference for me to apply ED? Like is there a better chance, or significantly better, of me getting into Wake if I applied early? I just want to get into a well-respected school, plus admissions is rolling so I can find out very soon. Thanks guys!

Hi! I think that applying early will definitely give you an advantage if Wake is the school for you.

Thank you PinkCupcake! Now, do you think it’ll be worth going there if I want to end up in investment banking up in NYC? What are some other schools I should be looking at with my stats?

@Virginiuh -

One of my friends is in a (specific) i-banking program, but I’m not sure that his school’s prestige has helped him in any way. Honestly, I would look at the business school rankings when looking at other schools to apply to, especially if you are confident that you fit in at a lot of different places (although, I am the same way, and there are definitely places where you will fit in better than others!)

Wake’s business program is way up there, so I really don’t think you can go wrong with it. I know we have a lot of connections with banks. I also looked primarily in the NYC area so I understand where you’re coming from.

I definitely think ED is a good idea when it comes down to it, though.

Are you talking about Indiana’s program by any chance? Oh, so are you a student of Wake? Awesome, how do you like it?

hey Virginiuh! Wake is an awesome school and you’ll love it if you decide to come here. Applying ED DEFINITELY helps your chances! 42% of the students accepted at Wake are early decision applicants, and less than a quarter of students apply that way. So, you can see how it helps your chances.

here are some reasons why I think Wake would be a great fit for any aspiring businessperson:

Wake Forest has the highest CPA passing rate for 1st time test takers in the nation. Yes, that means this small private university in NC bests the Ivy League with the CPA.

Wake has been ranked to have the best “Academic Quality” for an undergraduate business program by BusinessWeek in the nation. Not once. Three years in a row.

Wake Forest is a smaller school so professors give you personal attention. They really do.

The former CEO of PepsiCo and the current CEO of DishNetwork are Wake Forest grads.

A friend of mine who regularly advises Fortune 500 CEOs told me that (I know it’s just personal opinion, but his experience and occupation give it weight) “Calloway [Wake Forest’s school of business] is probably the best in the country. Hands down.”

Wake’s career center begins advising students in their freshman year as opposed to not starting until their senior year.

Those are just some of the reasons you should seriously consider Wake Forest. Best of luck in your application process and I hope to see you here next fall!

Believe it or not, I am talking about that program. Very astute observation

I am a rising senior at Wake. If you have any specific questions for i-banking, inbox me.

@PinkCupcake: Why thank you! And I definitely will!
