What do you know of the housing benefits, stipends, and overall experience as an RA? In consideration of whether commuting or dealing with the pain in the ass of housing- it’s pretty expensive.
I know the application process is different for each school, but what do you think are the possible pro’s and con’s?
What about at UC’s? Would appreciate any insight- thanks
I considered this too, but you have to live in the dorms for a year before applying for an RA position and you still may not get one. If you can afford to basically throw away $12,000 to $16,000, then its worth it to not have to pay that for a senior year. At most schools RA’s receive housing and food in turn for basically being chained to your room dealing with whiny and rebellious freshmen.
