Thanks for the update. It's reassuring to hear that the school apologized.

Now that I think about it, I do have a similar story to this one. musiclover2009, if you want to hear about it PM me, I don't really want to put it on the internet for everyone to see.

i go to an upper-middle class high school in a richmond, va suburb. (doesnt make me upper middle class, but im not poor either). My school is about 88% white and 6%black, with hispanics and asians making up the other 6%. Races are extremely alienated, with seperate races hanging out only with their own race. I'm half black, half puerto rican, but most of my friends are white. Like many of you can relate people call me the whitest black person ever because i actually want to succeed in life. there is a lot of hidden racsism that goes on at this school, though its not expressed physically much. I have been called the N word a couple times and sometimes black kids call me a sellout cuz i dress "preppy" (its whats in) and like classic rock/rock. (though i do enjoy some hiphop) and actually speak using correct grammer. though i have friends, it sometimes feels like i dont really fit in anywhere. I think teachers are kind of racsist too. They always yell at the black kids and send them to the office. maybe im generalizing but the black kids get into way more fights, are way louder, get in more trouble, get worse grades, dont give a **** about there lives, and teachers and students are afraid of them. I dont think my teachers like me b/c they lump me in with the other black kids which is not fair because i actually try in school and im a pretty quiet person and dont get in trouble. It really aggrivates me because no one is doing anything about it. Honestly tho i cant blame the white kids for not wanting to hang out with the black kids, as there really obnoxious at my school (not all, but a majority). i dont really like most of them. but also a lot of the white kids are rude, cocky, racist biggots and form huge white-only cliques so there not that much better. It sucks. sometimes i just wish i was white....

i am so sorry for your experience.

that should never happen to anyone, no matter which race they are from.
i saddens me when people drop the N word just for fun, or make jokes about other races, stereotypial jokes which can hurt people... i've stood up against it, but it doesn't seem to help :(
