Rain, is anyone getting some rain?

No rain since January. Precipitation seems to skip me over. Just ranting. I have many new plantings. They are all drought tolerant buttony after they are established.

No rain here in San Diego, but that’s not unusual for us during the summer.

We’ve had an adequate amount of rain until recently. PA is 99.79% with no status on Drought Monitor. But driving around just this afternoon, I started seeing the first signs of some crispy grass in lawns.

Weatherunderground shows only 0.25” in the last 2 weeks, well under the needed .75-1” per week. And only 0.4” in the weekly forecast. Today is also the third 90+ degree day in the last week.

We are having feast or famine here. Lots and lots of rain this spring, barely none the last couple of weeks except the one storm that dumped 2 inches in 45 minutes and caused flooding.

Maine is beautiful. We’ve had some rain but not too much. It’s so green. :slightly_smiling_face:

No rain. Dry lightening storms with low humidity and high winds. Recipe for disaster. But, no fire yet…We did have a wet winter- more snow fall than usual and the the pine tree, cactus, and chipmunks and rabbits bumper crop are benefiting.

New Jersey has had pretty much the usual amount. Rainy right now, actually. It’s been cooler than usual, which works for me as I hate running AC.

PNW has been soaked since last fall/winter. Atmospheric rivers came in just last week, raindrops today, it’s been a long, cool, wet spring. I wish we could send all this extra water down here. The sad thing is that the area is habituated to have a long slow summer runoff so there is not the water storage like you see in dryer climates, but the climate here is changing and also these late spring warm rains melt so much snow, another dry summer, eventually.

Outside Philly…we’ve had a good amount of rain on and off through the spring. Lawns are looking green in my neighborhood.

Feels like it’s been a cooler Spring and June so far which is fine with me.

Early June is typically when lawns around us start to brown out. This year it is just happening now. From now through the end of August, all lawns will brown out unless there is supplemented watering.

Not much. There was a late May snowstorm that helped. When the temps were into the 90s, I did some daily watering even though I usually try to do alternate days (or less if rain).

No rain here. Currently suffering from the effects of that massive drought in the West.

We stopped watering our backyard grass a couple years ago and now it’s a big brown eyesore

Agree about the rain in Maine, but I’d be happy if it rained every day.

Really? Wow. I wouldn’t be happy. But maybe if I had wintered in Arizona I would feel differently. :slightly_smiling_face:

It sprinkles here and there but we are all having to try to voluntarily limit water because we are low due to the navy contaminating our state water supply with fuel from ancient fuel tanks.

Today it was close to 90 degrees in Chicago, I went shopping, it was super hot but I was wearing my sweat pants, everyone was looking at me funny :joy: A few days ago it was a tornado warning it was super rainy then few days later it was scorching hot.

After a long cool and foggy spring at the Jersey Shore, we’re finally enjoying some great weather in the last several weeks - warm (70s) sunny and dry most days, punctuated by an occasional rainy day (today is one). Perfect garden conditions.

Right? If the whole summer stays like this, I’d be happy.

oh my…!

We had a deluge of rain in a big storm early last week with basements (not ours) flooding and lots of problems. But it’s an all or nothing it seems. And a lot of nothing. Hasn’t rained since that day and no rain in sight until Sunday at the earliest.

I attribute this drought to the fact that I finally set up my rain water barrel three weeks ago. Since then, only that one rain!!!
