Any comments? Anyone here been or got an invite?

I have a feeling this is a pretty prestiguous thing, and a way of enticing kids to come (hello, basically all expenses paid?!?!). Pretty amazing opportunity. I gotta say, it is working. It is making me consider UVA more than I was before. Seems they really like me ;)

How, well, "prestigous" is this? How many kids get an invite -> they only accept 20... Does this mean I am one of their top applicants? Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to get an ego boost, but I'm just wondering how special this thing actually is (seems pretty special to me), and just what exactly it should mean to me in considering attending UVA. As a note, I did not get Echols, even though I was hoping for it...

sorry. basically it's a full ride to their summer session, where you can take 2 classes for credit. and you get to meet faculty and attend special dinners and workshops. sounds pretty nice, right?

I think (but I have no idea, really) that it might be for specifically for select non-Echols kids. I'm basing this solely on the fact that the Rainey people have their own orientation days, which are different than the Echols days (and I think if you get Echols you have to go to Echols orientation). Maybe not though.

sorry bklyn2cornell do you mean they are going to be in it or they were or they currently are? I was under the impression that it was a one-summer thing...

I am still in the process of deciding where to go but UVA is slowly moving up my list.

no not race-based, i'm pretty sure it's economical-based, if you could call it that. I think your efc has to be a certain number maybe? that would mean jegan was probably recieiving a free ride to yale too.
