I've taken the ACT twice already, getting a 28 both times, first in April 2014, 29E, 26M, 30R, 26S, and I took it again in September 2014, getting a 27E, 26M, 30R, 29S. Any tips to improve my score? I took a practice test and got a 30E, 28M,31R,and 30S. I have studied Barron's ACT 36 and The ACT Black Book too. I know it is alreadly late, (like the test is tomorrow xD)

Don’t be discouraged, I did just about the same thing as you: 28 in April and 28 in June but then I got a 31 in October (skipped September, regretting it a bit now.) I really feel taking it several times helped, my scores went 26-28-28-31. That June test I felt really discouraged, but I just tried again and I think it actually helped. The ACT is a lot about knowing how to test, and by doing it several times you eventually pick up on the little things. I blew through the reading and science this last time (32 on both if you’re wondering) because I realized the key is to just not read. You find the important information, you get through it. All that text is scary the first few times, and no amount of practice tests can really simulate how it feels on test day. Do it enough though and it’ll just go away.

I’m taking it tomorrow as well, so hopefully the both of us increase our scores.

Thanks a lot, it really helped. And thanks, good luck!
