random business courses or econ minor?

<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I'm pursuing mechanical engineering, and recently started thinking about taking some higher level econ or intro business courses. I took a first yr econ course and did pretty well, the materials were fairly interesting, but is it worth the time to get a minor in econ since I have to take like 5 more classes in econ? I have some interest in business, but I'm not certain if i'll pursue an MBA later in life. So I started thinking maybe I should just take some businesses courses here and there along with some econ courses instead of binding myself to the minor requirements.</p>

<p>why not? an engineer with some business sense is actually good from what i heard. but dont go out of your way to do a minor if you cant</p>

<p>Well taking minor in eco can help you in MBA program. Again, you don’t need to be a BBA when you are a undergraduate to apply to MBA program. </p>

<p>I would take minor if you don’t mind spending maybe summers and even a semester or two to take extra classes in eco. Taking a major and a minor is very popular.</p>
