My school's tests are "random" as in not a single honors or AP kid will get tested while most of the other kids will. Also, if someone hints that someone else is doing drugs, there is an automatic drug test. If drugs are found, then they are put on probation and tested every 90 days.

All athletes have a mandatory drug test I think on July 17 which is pointless because as soon as they do the test, half the kids are going to toke it up.

I have a friend at a different school who is tested all the time and so were her sisters. The school claims to have random tests too.

wow, if my school did random drug testing, i would be beyond screwed. especially because all the administrators and such know of me as the kid with perfect test scores.

and i wouldn't be alone. i think people underestimate IB kids' parties.

Nope, not even for athletes, I believe. They'll only test you if someone went up to the board and said, "So-and-so is on steroids and here's my evidence," yada, yada, yada.

all my school does is bring the dogs out to sniff for drugs. Kids always try to pet the dogs but the trainers wont let em. If your in sports you're required to do a drug test.

No we don't, but we have literally 100+ security cameras, security guards with metal detector wands, local police officers, and guards on golf carts patrolling campus. My school is a suburban public school but it's a pretty good school this year's val and sal went to yale and princeton, nonetheless, our principal is paranoid.

There's random testing in my school for athletes and certain classes, but occasionally, a random kid gets picked for no reason. One person in my APUSH/APLANG class got called out in the middle of class to get drug tested. The reason? He looked sleepy.

We have drug dogs that go into classes regularly.

Athletes have "random" drug tests, but one guy, who knew his test was that day carried around a gallon of water and managed to pee the evidence out of his system before the test. No one said anything about it. Figures.

We're never in the same room; they'll tell us all to leave and then search, and the kids'll come back to find slobber on their things.
It's great.
But everyone leaves during the search and stands in the hall.
All personal belongings stay in the classroom.
As we're leaving, we pass the dog so they'd know if there were drugs on someone.

We're never really close enough to the dogs to get dander in our system; I would know, I have a mild dog allergy and it hasn't ever bothered me before.

We're extremely constitutional so our drug testing policy goes along with search and seizure... you must have evidence or reasonable suspicion. It's pretty funny, teachers KNOW when kids are blazed... in regular classes it can be anywhere from 5-35% of kids. APs usually like 0-20%. Yeah, they don't smoke during school hours.. my school has a pretty big pot problem. especially '08

My school doesn't do drug testing of any sort. They did bring dogs once a few years ago though. But that was only because they'd received a tip about a particular person. My school doesn't really have a big problem with drugs or alcohol because my town is historically Mennonite. My school didn't even allow dancing until the 80s, so it's just not in the culture to do drugs.
