why don't smith and kellum just have regular bunk beds? I don't see the point of the second bed being so high up? are the shelves under it really that useful??? to me it just seems like a waste of space. really not looking forward to it since I have a bad priority # and ankle =/

Everyone I’ve seen in the dorms use the shelves so I guess they’re useful. The bed being so high up does save space since the room is so narrow

to me it just seems like there could’ve been a closet under it or something. the shelves don’t look like they would hold a lot but that’s just from the picture. I haven’t seen it in real life. it looks like they could’ve been deeper though.

Well, if you go around to the room next to you, there will be another person sleeping right underneath you in the other room. Creepy eh?

They probably did that to save space, but then that brings up up the question of “why not bunk beds”

I guess that would be answered by people and their comfort levels. I mean sure most people wouldn’t mind sleeping on top of another person (u know what i mean) but there are people that do not.

I think that’s why. :D

oh I see. it must suck making your bed up there lol.

It definitely does because the bed weighs 3 tons (if im correct) and its hard to reach back to the other side without standing on the shef thingie

oh boy! the luxuries of college -_-

They were built in the 1960’s - meaning they’re old. It was probably a style that was tried for Smith & Kellum, but it failed. I guess no one will really know, but you can find enough room for your stuff if you really try.
