Bunk Beds

Is it allowed to bunk beds? And if so, do you recommend it? I was talking with my roommate and he has a similar class schedule to mine in terms of waking up/going to sleep so it's not like we'd be disturbing each other. Also we were thinking about putting a mini refrigerator in the room, so I assume we would have to create space (thus the idea of bunking beds came about).

Another random question...is Beaumont completely sub-free? I could understand one floor, but the whole dorm? Do most dorms have a sub-free floor?

Thx in advance.

Beaumont used to be completely sub free, years ago. It no longer is, unless it reverted back this year (which I doubt).

You’re allowed to bunk beds. I knew a room on my freshman floor that did this for about a month, and another that just did it as a joke (one roommate didn’t tell the other, they just came back to the room).
Yes, it makes the room huge, but I don’t know anyone who kept that set up for more than a few weeks. Whoever has to climb up gets sick of it eventually, especially if they like to party on the weekends.

Also, it should be noted that the rooms are much bigger than most dorms. If you don’t bunk the beds, you should still have plenty of room. And plenty of room for a fridge.

If you really want to make the room bigger, just put both beds up to the highest setting (you can adjust the height yourself), and put the dressers underneath. I had my bed like this, and as a short girl I could still easily ‘jump’ up). The fridge might also fit under a bed as well.

^yep, my roommate freshman year kept a minifridge underneath his bed. The bed was a little higher than I would’ve cared for, but imo that’s still better than bunking it. :)
