Governor's Academy

Brooks School

benev ... how in the world is roxbury latin below st george's and st mark's ??

remember Roxbury sends half of its class to the ivy and 15% to harvard. Its average sat score is a 2230 .... I mean it may very well be one of the best schools in the country ...

Grads of Roxbury founded harvard medical school and yale university just to name a few....

It was founded in 1645.

I mean i just object to that. I think in these rankings roxbury is clearly no 1.

college matriculation doesn't make a school great.. (although i know Roxbury Latin is an incredible school!!)

my list would go:

Roxbury Latin School

St. Paul's School

Groton School

Milton Academy

Middlesex School

.. and then everything else! there are some great schools on that list (brooks, st. mark's, st. george's..) but i don't really know them well enough to rank them.. so. :)

Oh why do these go on? Rank by what? Best food? Most sports? Highest per centage of people over 6 feet who are from the south?

What is the point?! Only you will know what school is best for YOU!

rate .. overall? D:
academics?!

haha well.
i was bored. needed distractions ..
:D i DO see your point, though. it's just fun to rank things, eheh..

Thayer Academy is a great day ISL school, new center for the arts and great success with college acceptance, the leadership is excellent and the kids are happy and well prepared for college.

erkybk: Once Again; where do you get your statistics?

People keep ranking things....

Surprise human nature hasn't changed yet. Amen evolution.

""prepschool preparation institute.""

A what?

Agree lol. I really wish people would stop mindlessly ranking. Just because Milton procures the greatest number of Harvard matriculations among Boarding schools by no measures means it is the right school for John Doeprepschoolapplyer. Some schools are better than others, but it does not mean that that school provides a better environment for this "John" in question than does a school lower on the ladder.

SAT score, College matriculation data, number of AP class, endowment/student

Does any of that crap make a difference to someone wanting to pursue something that only X school offers?

prep school preparation institute - Google Search

Couldn't find much substance.

Most of those BS ranking are from South Korean educational institute or educational newspaper. US parents do not care of those ranking too much while South Korean parents like to compare the BS in terms of SAT, SSAT, acceptance rate, college mayriculation, endowment, AP classes, etc. I heard it from Korean parents. Some of many ranking can be found at

Thayer Academy is not even in that list. Many of the kids getting out 2009 are getting into great schools? That is a bad list.

I am now understanding that that list is probably more for boarding schools not day schools.

Thanks erkybk, now I see.
