Rank these dorms please!?

Haggett, McCarty, McMahon, and Terry. For McCarty, is it a social dorm at all and are there many freshman? I am most interested in that one but fear that it won't be social and lively. And are there a lot of parties in Terry hall? Thanks a lot =)

bump! I would like to know any bad things about McCarty if there’s anything particular, because it’s my top choice right now. Also, both good/bad things about Haggett. I heard it’s not as social? I’m also looking for social dorms! Can someone rank these dorms from most social to least?

How “social” your dorm is mostly depends on the people on your floor and not actually the dorm you choose to live in. I have lived in McCarty for 2 years and have enjoyed the larger rooms and access to Ian’s Domain. If I had to choose out of your list, I’d pick McMahon, then Haggett, then Terry. Out of these, the only thing I would say is that McMahon residents sometimes have a problem with only knowing their clustermates (~8 people) and no one else on the floor. This isn’t a big deal if you like all your clustermates, but could be if you don’t get along with 1-2 of them.

In most dorms there will be mostly freshmen or sophomores and obviously, Lander is freshmen only if you’re into that. There is nothing extremely “bad” about any of the dorms, it mostly just depends on what side of campus you want to live on and whether or not you want to be close to a certain location (The 8, etc).

Let’s not forget: if you sign up for Terry next year, you are also signing up for Lander. (Do to construction no one will be in Lander fall quarter, and then no one will be in terry winter quarter on)

"The demolition of Lander Hall will begin in June and is projected to finish Sept. 15. The new Lander Hall will open December 2013.

“The people living in Terry will be moved into Lander during winter break, roughly,” Lubin said. “The center building in Terry will demolish in 2014 and will re-open September 2015. We are able to shorten the whole duration by a whole year [with the new plan].”"
