^ I used prestige and difficulty interchangeably. I think that's what the OP meant.

There's nothing more prestigious about any of those language AP's than psychology or gov. Just people trying to make themselves feel smart

Besides, all AP's are prestigious. They all cover quite challenging subject material, it's just for those prodigies that try to differentiate between "easy APs' and whatever. It's like saying 'you know, harvard is ranked above yale, so u r pwnt n00b'

TOP 15 - 20 APs.
Hard APs: AP Physics C, AP Calc BC, AP Chem, AP Euro History, AP US History, AP English Lang, AP English Lit
Moderate: AP Biology, AP Physics B, AP Comp Science AB, AP Language for non native,
Easy: AP Env Science, AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AP Economics, AP Govt. etc.

ap stat is easy? i might just take it next year...

i hope to god ap psych is easy at our school...

AP Art History needs to be up there....

PoIH, I disagree totally with your "hard AP" list. Calc BC should be a medium, if not easy. It is totally straightforward and there is nothing beyond regurgitation of classroom material.

English Lang is easy to get a 5 on with no prep at all. Over two-thirds of the kids who take it at my school get 5s, and we don't have a class at all. Just be able to write well, and know reading comp, and you'll be fine.

History tests should be medium, or medium-hard. The essays are easy to BS (to a degree); just the information is difficult.

The only ones that are actually hard are the Physics C ones, and maybe Chem.

I read somewhere that colleges view all APs equally regardless of how hard the class is, true?

^^^ I think that's just common sense.

It's only because less people take Calc BC/ Physics C / etc because of schools' prerequisites (i.e. mine) that it makes it look more "special" than others, hence probably the "prestige" part of this thread (you were so smart you took BC in freshman or whatever lol, when most other people take it junior/senior year)

I thought AP Chem, AP Calc BC, APUSH were jokes. I found myself sleeping at the end of all of these. The only tough one in my opinion that I took was Physics C, even though the curve was ridiculous.

This link to 2007 AP testing data from Collegeboard is interesting--the 2 AP's with the lowest percentages of 5's earned, excluding the foreign languages, are English Language and Literature, with 9.2% and 7% respectively.
