<p>I'm applying to H&SS soon, and I have a question regarding that section on the supplement that asks what major/degree I'd pursue. What if I'm torn between Cognitive Science and Creative Writing? I know you can double major, but what do I put on my application? Should I answer "General HSS"?</p>

<p>Write your essay stating you are planning to double major. Select 1 and 2 for the programs (does one edge out the other in your mind)-- don’t go with the General option (that indicated “undecided”). You already know which programs are of interest, so make sure to indicate so by selecting the program.</p>

The application gives the option of ranking schools, so H&SS would definitely be #1. And then it asks department, and I can only choose English or Psychology. Under English, I could choose Creative Writing, and under Psychology, I could choose Cognitive Science. I think I’ll just choose one or the other, and make it clear in my essay what I want to do, and how I’m open to more fields.</p>
