Ranking the big 10's.. hardest vs. easiest to get into.

Is this correct?

HARDEST Northwestern
UMich
UW-Madison
UIUC
Penn State
U Indiana
Ohio State
Purdue
Michigan State
EASIEST U Iowa

I almost agree, but I would move Indiana down a few spots.

HARDEST Northwestern
UMich
UW-Madison
UIUC

Michigan State
EASIEST U Iowa

doesnt indiana have a REALLY good school of business? For a public that is, i would assume it would be about like LuckyStarBoy had them to start with

To get into IU non-business is not very hard. I think 170 of 180 kids from my school who applied there were accepted. I agree with jec.

Don't know why Minnesota was left out, but I'd probably put it right after Ohio State.

Don't know why Minnesota was left out

Because he forgot the Big 10 has 11 teams

^ And the UAA....AKA "Nerdy Nine" league has only 8 teams :)

Northwestern
Michigan
Wisconsin
Illinois
Ohio State/Penn State
Minnesota/Purdue
Iowa
Michigan State
Indiana

I agree with jec7483.

:)

how come is Michigan hardest to get into ? Are Ivies supposed to be the hardest ones ?

dracula, please remove your teeth and type properly. I don't understand your question.

^ oh my god. lmao.

lol if I removed my teeth I wouldn't scare any hot girls anymore :P
the list #1 and #2 start with the Hardest and end with the Easiest. So I wonder why UMich is tough and Ivies are supposed to be the top hardest colleges to get into. Is that clear enough ?

^I think you misunderstood. This is about schools in the Big Ten conference.

lol maybe my mind is too narrow. can anyone tell me what we are talking about :P

The Big Ten is a group of schools that compete with each other in sports, like the Ivy League

There are athletic conferences. Ivy League, Big 10, Pacific 10, Mid-America Conference, Atlantic Coastal Conference, etc.

the big 10 is a conference of 11 midwestern schools. a good portion of them have highly respected engineering and business programs.

The conference is made up of 11 teams and is mainly composed of schools that are "public ivies". I believe Purdue was the only school to not make the public ivies list and northwestern is obviously private. You definitely had me a little confused there.

Never understood the point of calling schools 'Public Ivies', 'Little Ivies', or 'Southern Ivies'. Why compare everything to the Ivy League? Last I checked, the University of Iowa was about as different from Columbia as it gets.

They are called public ivies because they, "provide an Ivy League collegiate experience at a public school price."

Did you fly down to Iowa from WI for classes? You will probably have a better grasp of college once you actually get there.
