I turned in my ED application to my counsellor yesterday, he promised that they’ll mail it next Wednesday.

As soon as I handed my application to him, I had this feeling that I’m not going to get accepted.

Bryn Mawr was my first choice eversince last summer, when I overcame difficulties to travel from Beijing to the US, just to visit and have an interview. I tried my best at telling them that BMC is the college of my dreams through my essays. I’m not like most people in my school who seemed to be naturally good at writing effective essays, so I started early. I wrote many drafts of the same topics and asked my English teacher/former English teacher/middleschool English teacher to revise them for me; they are all really nice people and agreed to do so. In the end, I’m not confident enough to say that my essays are excellent, but I really liked them and they are my best effort.

I’m convinced that I’m not going to get accepted because my stats are fairly average. My new SAT is at the higher range of 1800s, which is FAR from impressive. I’m taking full IB courses and my accumulative GPA is only 3.7(4.5 scale). My school, a competitive international school, doesn’t rank the students. As for my ECs, my activities are fairly one-sided. I joined a newspaper team for MUN since tenth grade and is currently one of the student coordinators. I attended the BEIMUN in Beijing every year, MYMUN in Malaysia last year and THIMUN in the Hague this year.

I truly wish that Bryn Mawr will pay attention to my essays, because they represented who I am better than my SAT and GPA. However, a friend of mine applied last year RD and was rejected, her SAT score is similar to mine. Since I do not know just how important the SAT is to Bryn Mawr, I guess I’m fairly likely to be rejected?

Anyways, whoever listened to my ranting, thanks alot and please reply if you have the answers to my questions. Comments are appreciated as well.
