I'm thinking of rushing and I want to know how Gamma Phi Beta compares to Alpha Phi or Tri Delta. Let me know what you guys know of their reputations. Which are top houses? Which are easy to get into? Thanks

quebueno,
Look at the websites of each Greek chapter. See what leadership opportunities are available, social exchanges, scholarships and sisterhood activities. These should all be memtioned on the sites. Check with Panhellenic regarding costs. Make sure your family is aware of the dues and other expenses involved.

Sororities that belong to the National Panhellenic Conference have been on campus over a hundred years. Membership is by mutual selection. The best sorority is the one that fits YOU!. A way to find out where you fit is to determine if Greek life is not only affordable, but also offers you a group of sisters where you feel “at home”. Formal recruitment is not available until next August. Use this time to meet women through various organizations and classes on campus. Stereotyping young women on a message board is not as helpful as meeting women in person during informal social situations through the year.
There may be a new colony on the row next year. This could be of interest if you want to be part of establishing a new Greek chapter.
For more information about national organizations and what is involved in recruitment check with USC Panhellenic or visit GreekChat.com .
As I mentioned formal sorority recruitment is months away. Work on your grades and take advantage of all the opportunities SC offers you now.

Georgia Girl is correct: go with the house that you feel best at. I know girls at “top” houses like Kappa and DG that hate their house while girls in other houses absolutely love theirs. And btw, guys don’t really care what house you’re in.

GeorgiaGirl, why do you think there’s going to be a colonization next year?
