Rather Cruddy Situation

Well...how do I put this. I neglected to add any of my half-dozen volunteer activities to the Common Application activity section. And...I just sent it out to all colleges. Not good. They are all on my attached resume though. Err...should I try and fax or email a response to the colleges regarding this, or just hope that they read through the resume?
Thanks to all.

I, personally, would fax the information to all the admission offices. (I’ve heard because of the amount of emails colleges get, faxes are usually received quicker). If you send it out now, right after you send out the applications and before or just after your deadlines, you should be alright. It’s also a good thing that you’re resume was attached.
Best of luck!

Thanks! I’m not exactly sure how to explain it to them though. Do colleges read attached resumes?

They might, but I would not count on it. On the other hand, they are very used to getting updates, corrections, etc. I agree with viacollege, though I am not sure that Faxes are any better than email. Whatever you do, follow up with a phone call a week later.

This is not a big deal, as long as you follow through.

Thanks! Anyone else with experience as far as attached resumes? I feel it would be somewhat awkward if I called saying, “Please refer to my attached resume for volunteer experiences.” Nonetheless, it is my fault to begin with.

I would just ignore the fact they are on your resume. I would mail/fax/email then a list of the hours and say you left them on the original application. Keep it simple. then follow up with a phone call.

I’ll probably call and fax tomorrow. Thanks again for the advice. Does anyone know when University of Chicago sends out its Early Action notifications? To my understanding, it is 12/20, but most others are 12/15?
