good luck though!

Barnard, Wellesley, Wesleyan, Bryn Mawr and Bowdoin are all coming up for me. Then the nightmare that will be the 31st/1st. oO OH BOY, FUN TIMES. Heh.

Here's to Barnard, though. It's one of my top choices, and although my odds aren't incredible, I'd love to get in and be able to go to school with all y'all! :)

firefly16842 - Thanks. I should be really familiar with this tearm, since it represents about 75% of the schools I applied to, LOL...

Do we have a definite date yet for Barnard?

lol wow did a lot of ppl apply to barnard for architecture? I smell competition!! (I applied for architecture too..except I didn't think it would be a popular program for some reason)..dont' mind me!!!

<3

I wanna try having a kosher meal.!!!

but then again, most chinese dishes can be considered as kosher..

Heh, not exactly. :) It all depends on the level of kashrut you're observing; I was raised in an Orthodox family, and, I can assure you, dietary restrictions were pretty harsh. However, we're now lapsed and Reform, and, well, Reform kashrut basically dictates that you can't eat pork and everything else is fine and dandy. =P

And now that we've clarified what keeping kosher is all about! Heh.

I'm reconstructionist and we don't keep kosher at all...so I'm no help basically. Except I'm actually a pescatarian so everything I eat but like...shellfish is fine.

I didn't apply for architecture. English and Poli Sci (human rights concentration) all the way!

LOL I hate pork. I like seafood and chickens and steaks and..oh I'm a crazy animal killer. :( :( :(

"even though it's very unlikely that you'll be accepted based on your stats."

dies

Who said that??

Edit: Nevermind. I got it :p I thought it was what someone said on your chance thread or something.

...I still don't get it.

Also, I don't eat meat besides fish just because I don't like it. Not because I think people that eat meat are crazy animal killers. However, I'm trying to phase fish out for ethical and environmental reasons.

A user was explaining to lily what a "reach" school means, lol.

OH. Hahah got it. It's been a long day haha.

what's a good website to buy a prom dress in?

I'm not sure I'd recommend buying a prom dress online...I had to try on close to thirty before I found mine. I got mine from a Bloomingdale's store, though, and their website has all of the same dresses as in the store.

mp153 - "I don't eat meat besides fish just because I don't like it. Not because I think people that eat meat are crazy animal killers."
Me too! I don't think I've ever met anyone else who was veg for the same reason. I love animals/the environment too, so it all works out, but I really just never liked the taste. :P

cantochickk - that's exactly what I was doing this morning, heh. Last year I got one from Unique Vintage - Prom Dresses, Vintage Clothing, Flapper Dresses, Celebrity Inspired Dresses - Prom Dresses, Pinup dresses, Rockabilly dresses, prom dress and everything worked out beautifully. :)

Edit: Oh, weird, scary link. Don't know how that happened, but alright then.

I was stalking Barnard Blogs and found an interesting article from the last year..

An impressive roster: Barnard’s Admitted Class of 2012

(from Barnard’s News Center)

New York, NY — Out of 4,273 applicants, only 1,207 outstanding young women received the coveted thick envelope this spring, keeping Barnard’s admit rate at 28 percent for the second year in a row and maintaining its place as the most sought-after women’s college in the country.

“Once again, we were hugely impressed and excited with the quality of our applicants,” said Jennifer Fondiller, Dean of Admissions. “Leaders of all kinds were prevalent-class presidents, captains of sports teams, and editors-in-chief of newspapers, literary magazines, and yearbooks. Artists were well-represented, including accomplished musicians, dancers, and actresses, and there were many applicants this year who demonstrated significant commitment to social responsibility, such as those who had participated in hurricane relief efforts by building homes and organizing the donations of supplies. We couldn’t have been more pleased with this group.”

The College admitted 187 students via early decision, which represents about one third of the first-year entering class, expected to be about 560.

Possible members of the Class of 2012 hail from 46 states, Puerto Rico, Washington D.C., and 32 countries around the world. About 37 percent identified as students of color: 19 percent Asian-American, 9 percent Latina and 7 percent African-American.

Notable admittees include a World Champion trampolinist, a cabaret performer, an internationally ranked table tennis player, a unicyclist, a certified pilot, several students who have performed at Carnegie Hall, and a student who published her own novel. Impressively, 88 percent of those admitted were in the top 10 percent of their respective classes, including 65 valedictorians.

Students must respond to the College’s offer of admission by May 1.

ouch! my rank is not even close to the top 10% in our school... ;-)

Oh gosh, I probably should have waited to read that until after I know my fate. :/

My brother can unicycle! Though I seriously doubt that increases his chances of admission. :P

scratch out the "in"****
