RD 2015 Admissions Info...:D

I thought the letters might come today…I waited in anticipation at school all day and then came home to nothing :frowning: Haha. But I live in CA so I shouldn’t really have expected it.

Ahhhh can’t wait!

i am international applicant, and i haven’t recieved Fedex notification yet…anyone has idea when would the admission office finish all the mail work? i mean if they already mailed all the acceptance letters, then i am screwed…BTW, will all applicants receive mails or only admitted students get it? i heard rumors that acceptance letters are sent by Fedex and rej are sent by snail mail?

My D also got the fed-ex tracking info (also 0.5kg) and we are international. While I would like to feel optimistic, I think it could also be a waitlist decision. I would guess that waitlisted students would also get the whole package which would account for the weight of the letter. Sorry to burst any hopeful bubbles out there. I got pretty excited at first too… until I thought of that.

How exactly does FedEx know your e-mail?? Is it given by the admissions office?

To the best of my knowledge, waitlisted students do NOT receive all the extra things admitted students do, or at least thats my impression from what I’ve read and my own experience. However, I would still be cautious to jump to any conclusions because often I have received mail and have it weigh far less than the “claimed shipping weight.” It may be that they pay to ship envelopes UP TO that weight. Just a thought. I hope you all get in!!! (As long as you leave a spot for me too :))

Waitlisted students DON’T get the extra materials, just a single-page letter–I know because I got one yesterday :-(

(although I should say I am in Minnesota, not an international student)

I’m in Thailand and still haven’t received an e-mail about FedEx… getting anxious!!

While it’s neat that they only send out the decisions through actual hard copy letters, there’s still something worse than finding out by on-line notification or via an e-mail: finding out on the basis of whether FedEx sent you a tracking number.

Ok this is lame! I wonder if FedEx sends out the e-mails from the host country or the destination country? xD See how paranoid I am at this? lol

^yup, but don’t lose hope guys! I received my tracking # a day later than the first recipient who posted here, so they might still be sending them out!

Oh that is GREAT to hear, thanks for the reassurance! xD

A friend of mine from Nanjing, China said he already received the fedex package and he wasn’t accepted (He didn’t tell me whether he was waitlisted or not). I guess he was waitlisted though~

will rejections be mailed as well?

The fed-ex e-mail came from fed ex.com (the States) and our email was provided to fedex by Carleton. Nothing went out from Carleton until yesterday so I find it very surprising that anything has already reached China (unless it was an early decision candidate you are talking about). We are in Europe and estimated delivery (according to the tracking info) is the 25th. D rec’d acceptance from Macalester in a DHL envelope and it was not tracked and she was not notified to expect it. Also rec’d Fed-ex package from another school a few days ago (also 0.5kg) and it was an acceptance although it was only a few peices of paper and I don’t think it really weighed that much. I think we are all just going to have to wait and see but at least all of this speculating is making the time go by faster :-)

WOW! and your friend applied RD? Did he get a tracking no.?

just checked my fedex tracking. 10 hours ago my package was .5kgs but and now it says .2!
anxiety is eating me from the inside out :S

Actually I myself also got the tracking number from Fedex and it told me that the package has arrived in Beijing. So it is reasonable that my friend has already got the package (It is more likely that he is waitlisted cuz he was accepted by caltech already)

We’re patiently patiently waiting! D’s better @ this then dad, though. lol

My daughter received her acceptance in this morning’s mail in the Chicago suburbs and is thrilled, as Carleton has long been one of her top choices. Financial aid was included and more generous than we were expecting.

Best of luck to everyone.

Big envelope here in another Chicago suburb! Yay!
