RD acceptance letter!!

Hey guys, I got a letter from Swarthmore today accepting me into the Class of 2010!! I was very excited and wondering if anyone else received the letter as well. Is anyone else is going to "Ride the Tide" in April?

AHH!!! CONGRATS!!!

I want a letter too! I live in Louisiana, and a long long time ago, they sent me a blue postcard extending my deadline, waiving my fee, and telling me that I would get a decision mid-March.

Congratulations., jli2006. I believe that you are the first of the RD applicants to hear.

I would definitely recommend Ride the Tide, especially since you live so close by. If you are trying to make up your mind, it will help. If you've already decided to attend Swarthmore, it'll be a great "trial run" and make you much more confident heading off to college in the fall.

My daughter left for Ride the Tide a high school student and came home a college student. I think it was very beneficial for her and her parents! Being excited and positive about leaving for college is a huge plus, IMO...especially as you go through the inevitable period of saying goodbye to your high school "life" and friends.

Knowing that she was confident and ready made the whole "saying goodbye" scene easier for her mother and I.

i got that letter too! i'm sooo happy right now, since I hadn't counted on getting in.

im gonna try to make the ride the tide thing

congrats jli2006!

wow congrats.
whatever78 where do u live?
I'm just waiting for tomorrow.

i'm in new york

Wow...I wasn't expecting them to come so soon. I live in Jersey, but as far as I know I didn't get anything. Ugh, they probably mailed acceptances first. Ho hum.

Did you guys just get a letter or did you get the whole admissions packet?

I just got my acceptance letter too! Whoo-hoo!!! I just got a letter along with an invitation to Ride the Tide.. with more stuff coming soon.

Good luck to everybody else!

Yea, they def mailed acceptances out first. Oh well, I'll let you all know when the rejections come.

congrats to everyone! I'm sure that's untrue NJ... It would be pretty awful.

Guess that means rejections for the rest of us? :( (sigh)

Or wait...are these "early writes" or whatever?

don't panic - if you look at last year's threads, there were several students who got 'early write letters' about 2 weeks before the regular decisions came out. Not receiving one of these early letters does not mean you are going to be rejected. I'm sure that the bulk of the letters will not be sent out for another 2 weeks and you will all hear on the 31st or the 1st.

And congratulations to all of you have received these letters! Swat is a terrific school!

DS received his in the mail today as well. We are in NC.

Kat

What is the date for Ride the Tide?

Congratulations to all who have received an acceptance letter! I'm panicking though because Swarthmore is my dream school. What did all of you get on your SATs? I am nervous that a 2100 will keep me out even though I am in the top .6% of my class.

Woah woah, were these regular acceptance letters or early writes? I thought these were just regular letters for acceptances? I thought these were normal letters. But if they're early writes then that changes everything, I wasn't expecting one by any stretch, I'm hoping I slip in off of my deferral early decision...

I hope they still have more acceptees to inform... :S

april 20ths to that weekend i think

they're early writes
