RD Applicants for class of 2017

@dad2grls where do you guys live? and congrats!!

GCmom we are in PA

Ahhh! Maybe LI it will take longer. Do you think your daughter will accept? They have a special thing for Presidential Scholars on GAD…get acquainted day…

She applied to 8 schools all RD only heard back from Gettysburg, Muhlenberg and Deleware (honors) Emory is top choice. Probably come down to finances. What is special for the presidential scholars on GAD

@dad2grls you have some great choices! You should get an invite for GAD. Should be all in there. They do make an effort on that day…break out sessions for majors …parents and student events…all the clubs come down and give out info.

Received my acceptance in the mail yesterday (live in PA)! The acceptance letter comes in a large, white USPS priority mail envelope, so for those still waiting to hear back, look out for it. Letters should come relatively quickly considering Gettysburg sent them via priority mail.

When is acceptedvstudents day? Hoping to have acceptance for daughter and trying to plan today for our tentative April schedule.

@Absmomof3 accepted students day is April 20th

I dont get it. It came in usps envelop, not their own one?
Is it for special students?

@test bulk: Congrats! Do they give you enough FA?

@mhyoon: It is kind of weird that they sent it is a USPS flat rate envelope. Every other college I’ve been accepted to has sent their letter in their own envelope with their logo on the front. But Gettysburg sent it this way for some reason. I think they may have done it so that the letters would reach people faster. Their letter was dated March 15th and I received it March 16th, so it did come pretty quickly. I don’t think it’s just for special students.

Thanks,testbulk. And congratulations!
Since we live in MD,I hope we will receive it tomorrow.

Good Luck to everyone who havent heard yet!! Tomorrows gonna be a big day I think!

Ah, I had forgotten about the priority mail aspect. My dd was one of the students who helped stuff some of the envelopes, and she was grousing to me the day she did it about the high cost of doing it that way. I have no idea what the reason for the change to priority mail was; it certainly wasn’t done that way when she was accepted. I wonder if they have had problems with letters going MIA? I also wonder if they have considered online notification?

So sorry for those of you who have had to wait the extra weekend day. Geez, at least they could have mailed them earlier in the week so Sunday wouldn’t have come into play. Good luck to all those waiting.

@Testbulk, thanks and congrats!

I. Am. So. Anxious.

My daughter and I spent the night watching Gettysburg You Tube videos…move in day, Get acquainted days…and some Servo videos…she wants her dot! The dot is for those who dont know when you go to GAD they put an orange dot on your name tag so other students know you are going and have accepted. She is sleeping in her brothers Gettysburg sweatshirt…this is bad. I think tomorrow we will all know…and I cant open the envelope until she gets home. If she doesnt get in that would be pretty bad…but I think if she gets in and the financials arent good that might be worse. Good Luck everyone!!

So I confuded. Should I expect something in the mail today? We are on Long Island.

Got my acceptance!!!

Came in a big white envelope!

Congrats @Centrellag13!
