RD Application Acknowledgment

Have you RD’ers received an acknowledgment email yet? Just wondering.

Just so you know, I applied ED, and the acknowledgment e-mail came pretty late compared to the other acknowledgments I received (I also applied to 3 other schools RD around the same time, and those arrived the same day, or within 3 days). I think Barnard’s came about a week after I submitted my forms on common app. So don’t panic if it’s taking a bit, and good luck!

Same here(i.e. others received, BC’s not) so I guess it’s on target…thanks.

^^ umm sorry what is the acknowledgment email? I am assuming its a letter stating they recieved your application?

yes, and it gives you a code that you use to track what parts of your application they have received. Also, when they start sending out letters, the code lets you into the admitted students website, which is a back door of sorts for finding out if you were accepted or not.

Ahhh I did not know that !!! Do you know how early you can go on it for a RD admit!!! (mid March perhaps?.. I will probably go on it everyday starting from mid- March lol! :stuck_out_tongue: )

You won’t get a straightforward indication from going online as to your admissions status. They send out paper letters (via express mail) towards the end of March. About a week before the end, historically.

But, as you may have gathered from reading these boards, the EDers discovered that at or near the time they knew the actual letters had been sent, the ones who were accepted could sign in to the accepted student’s page on the admissions site using their tracking code. It’s a way to find out just a little sooner, but I am not sure how reliable it is…

^^ It would very disappointing to think that you were accepted because you can sign in to the accepted student’s page but then receive a letter stating you were not accepted :frowning: … maybe I won’t try it, because that would be devastating.

I am pretty sure that would not happen. But you could be UNABLE to sign in and then later get accepted.

But you are correct, that would be terrible!
