My recommendation for anyone who really wants to get into Elon is to apply Early Action. I had the same ACT, 4.02 GPA, lots of EC’s, leadership, etc. and applied RD. I got admitted as a Spring Admit, which was a bit of a disappointment. I showed a lot of interest and was eventually offered a spot for the fall, but it just goes to show even when you’re on the higher end of their scores, a lot of preference is given to those who apply early. Just something to consider, for what it’s worth. Best of luck to you!
@armin23133 do NOT apply early action to Elon! We were specifically told on our Elon tour that the least amount of applicants are admitted EA. If Elon is your first choice, apply Early Decision. It is my understanding that applying ED greaty increases your chance for admission. If you are not 100% sure Elon is your first choice, I suggest you apply regular decision, not EA. Now you might be asking, why is this. I’m not positive, but this is my understanding… Elon Admissions has experienced the majority of EA applicants to be those who have a more competitive school (Wake Forest, Chapel Hill) as their first choice. As a result, they tend to limit the number of EA admissions as to not significantly lower their yield (the number of admitted students who actually attend). Yield is a factor considered in most, if not all, of the college ranking entities. Again, this is only my understanding of the process so if anyone else has insight, I would love to hear it. That said, I will emphasize one more time that our admission counselor specifically told us that Elon accepts the lowest percentage of applicants from the EA pool. ps. Do note that this is not the case at every college. On our Miami of Ohio tour, the counselor specifically stated that the earlier you apply (ED then EA with Regular Admission last) the higher your chance of being accepted. Go figure.
