RD Decisions 2016

Based on the last couple of years, RD decisions begin to trickle out around February 10th. Those receiving Scholars and major merit aid come out in February.

The bulk of RD decisions come out the same day in mid-March.

Or Northeastern could do it differently this year!

After being rejected from my first choice, Northeastern is my new first choice.

Looking forward to decisions!

Expect them to start coming on the 9th actually, Tuesday night is when EA and ED came out back in December (and the 10th was Tuesday in 2015). I hope I hear as soon as possible

I really hope I get my decisions in Feb–the only early results i’ve got are deferred and waitlist and it’s making me nervous.

Wait so you will only get your decision next week if you have been offered a scholarship or financial aid?

Those receiving Scholars and major merit aid have come out in February the past couple of years.

@TomSrOfBoston what were the GPA/ACT/SAT scores that were accepted early last year like?

Some of the February acceptees chimed in on this thread in March.

Here is another thread:

Did anyone else get an email from the director of undergrad admissions that looked like a likely letter? Its basically a match school for me stats wise, and my ECs and essay were really good. It looked a bit formulaic, but I haven’t heard of anyone else getting one. Please let me know if anyone else has!!

I did too @jh1015 … I wonder how many got that/if it’s a good indicator for merit aid.

@jh2015 There is a separate thread regarding the emails.

Decisions are out…

Decisions are out! Received a 20k merit scholarship

@TomSrOfBoston It seems like kids getting decisions now (Feb) does not include students who were EA - and deferred to RD. I think I’ve only seen true RD applicants. Has it been like this in the past - meaning if you are deferred to RD, you likely won’t find out until March?

@SuzyQ7 Yes

Applied RD and still didn’t receive anything yet!! Good luck to all

@TomSrOfBoston It feels like applying EA doesn’t give the student much of an edge, only the university. EA seems more competitive than RD. Are there stats on that?

Northeastern claims that they try to equalize the EA and RD acceptance rates.

My D got a great financial aid offer EA, including the Dean’s Scholarship- but just found out is NMF, and I know Northeastern gives a larger scholarship for that. Is that only if you do the first choice designation by their deadline?

In reading some other posts, I see that her Dean’s amount was comparatively low- 13K per year. But with everything else they offered our EFC would be about 17K. Trying to figure out what it would be if she got the NMF instead.
