Or all the rejections to acceptances! :p

I have often speculated about an experiment where after careful deliberation and selection of students, half of the admitted students were replaced by a randomly selected group of students from the denied group. These students would then be followed during their time at the University. My guess is there would be no difference in outcome between the groups. And, this would be true at most schools.

I don't see how one can take the blog post as ruling today out. March 25th is around April 1.

^Yes, I agree. However, why post such a blog telling the applicants to chill out and wait if they are going to release in a few hours? They aren't that into playing mind games....at least I hope

UChicago loves mind games. We'll know in about 50 minutes or so.

Would the poster really have known when decisions were coming out? Maybe he or she posted then just to be on the safe side. Come on now...

Elizabeth (Bizzy) Hemphill is the Assistant Director of Admissions, so I am sure she knows when decisions will come out.

Imagine the Chicago admission office:

The files have been stamped with "REJECT," "WAITLIST," or "ADMIT," and they have finished punching in the results into the computer since Monday.

Then they use their free time to read our posts, then laugh while having a nice big warm mug of coffee and some chocolate cake.

Then when they've finished the cake, they'll click the SUBMIT button on the computer and our decisions will pop out, and then they'll turn their attention back to CC and watch the massive reaction that occurs later, like "OMG THE DECISIONS ARE OUT!!!" as other CCers collapse and die from massive heart attacks.

After that, they turn the lights out and go home for a well-deserved spring break.

^With some nice music in the bg. They're dancing their a**** off to celebrate the end of admissions process.

^Hmm what do you think their music tastes are?

Knowing U of C and their jubiliation I'd say rock n roll ;)

Queen's "WE WILL ROCK YOU"

Oh btw the chocolate cake isn't just to celebrate the end of RD, but also to celebrate Ted O'Neill's retirement from admissions ... so this year's RD is his last chance to torture overworked high school seniors.

Maybe that's why they've decided to hold onto the decisions for a longer time this year. More time = more fun :)

The uncommon blog says RD ers are pretty quiet. I wonder what the EA ers were like then ;)

^ I know. I want to comment on the blog and give her links to both of the RD discussion thread...if THIS is quiet I do not want to know what EA was like. lol

I am sure U of C have something goin on with CC. The moment we read the blog we come here n start ranting :D

QB finalists don't find out earlier--I'm a QB finalist and I haven't heard anything from UChicago. Blegh.

I should just stop waiting.

Someone told me QB finlaist find out earlier than the RDers. Does this mean decisions are gonna be even more late? :(

they are up!!!

Decisions are up

THEY ARE UP!!! Somehow I don't want to click on the link...
