For the first time, all Regular Decision applicants will be notified of their decision via e-mail. The e-mail will be sent to the address used as the primary e-mail on the Common Application, so it is imperative to check that e-mail account, as well as periodically check the spam folder (or properly adjust those settings, if able). The e-mail will contain an attachment, which will open your decision letter.
All admitted students will receive an admission packet in the mail, which will be mailed after the e-mail is sent. Any students receiving waitlist or deny decisions will not receive anything beyond the e-mail.
The date of this e-mail release has not been finalized, as the decision-making and operations process is still ongoing. We intend for the e-mail to send between March 18-23. There will not be a formal announcement with a specific date and time; however, we will tweet on our account, @BC_Admission, as soon as the e-mail is sent.
This process will eliminate a waiting period and end any speculation over Portal tabs. We hope this comes as exciting news for all applicants.
Check your emails…BC admissions just sent out an email asking for us to check our email address and let them know if anything has changed, as they are “nearing the conclusion” of their review of applications and will be “communicating decisions via email no later than March 31”.
@DevlinHall208 Will the decisions be e-mailed tomorrow? I know you are probably not at liberty to say but I am so anxious! I just want to know what time I should check my e-mail. However, I am probably going to end up refreshing it throughout the day anyways!
I second that ^ VERY anxious. We may not be allowed to know the day, but do you have any idea of what time the e-mail would be sent? (e.g. during school hours, during the evening, etc…)
@DevlinHall208, how do new admits access their financial aid page? There doesn’t seem to be a tab where the letter says there will be a tab. Thanks in advance!
@midp3259 - We do not admit by major, so if you wish to change from, say, Biology to History, you do not need to notify our office, as you will still be housed in the College of Arts & Sciences. If you are requesting to switch schools, say, from the Carroll School of Management to the College of Arts & Sciences, you would need to request that from our office, which is typically not something we allow.
@DevlinHall208 - Where exactly are your policies regarding freshman gap years for admitted students? I am looking for deadlines, reqirements, responsibilities, restrictions and any specific information pertaining to this subject. A web page would be best, but an explanation of your policies here would be helpful also.
@numbersfun - Honestly, it will be much easier and more beneficial for your individual circumstance to call our office. One of our admission counselors will be happy to talk it through with you.
