When are letters being mailed out?

When are decision letters being mailed out? I know during EA they mailed the letters earlier than the announced date, December 30th. Will they do the same for RD? If I recall correctly, about a month ago, someone posted a thread claiming that the admissions office told them letters would be sent out the first week of March. Is this true? I don’t mean to start a rumor or by any means create any anxiety…

If this question has been already answered in a previous thread, then I sincerely apologize beforehand for not finding it.

I’m pretty sure they come out around the last week of march

[Deadlines - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/admission/undergrad/process/deadlines.html)

I believe first letters arrived last year to those living in MA on Wednesday, March 24.

from the Agora Portal Applicant Status page:

Students planning to enroll in September 2011
-Early Action Admission decisions will be mailed by December 25, 2010
-Regular Admission decisions will be released by April 1, 2011

Will the Agora Portal have decisions posted? Or only via snail mail?

I thought I remember reading that all notifications are snail mail

@shermani no, the decisions will not be posted on the Agora portal, and you’re right that the deicisions will only come in snail mail. However, you can tell if you’re admitted before the snail mail comes by seeing if there is a new tab added on your portal. If you’re admitted, then there will be Pay Enrollment Confirmation Fee and Financial Aid tabs added to your portal.

@junebin21- if thats the case then I hope they are still in the process of doing so…

the tabs come up like the night before decisions are mailed. its too soon for tabs right now.

georgie33–Our DD has new tabs; FA, and PEF. We are not sure what is going on, but are praying for a big letter soon.

i saw that your daughter was deferred ea, and so was i.
now i’m super nervous because i don’t have any tabs yet.

So the financial aid tab is different from the separate financial aid website?

georgie33–So sorry for adding to your nervousness :frowning: we are still feeling worried too and haven’t even mentioned the tab thing to our DD because it seems so isolated. If there were at least a few others posters with new tabs it might seem real, but this is just weird. We will post if a letter arrives in the next couple of days. Thanks.

gottagotocollege - DD got the tabs some time in the last 2 days … she also applied EA and was deferred.

sedluhs–Finally! Another post telling of tabs. Now we feel more confident! Congrats, sedluhs!

My nephew got pay enrollment confirmation and financial aid tabs sometime in the last few days. He was deferred EA.

My D was deferred EA. After reading posts here she checked her portal last night for the first time in a number of days and noticed that two new tabs have appeared:

Pay Enrollment Confirmation Fee and
Financial Aid

This is different from December when she was initially deferred. At that time this webiste had lots of posts indicating that tabs had appeared on other students’ portals while her page remained unchanged. Seems like a good sign. I will feel better if and when the snail mail shows up.

Are they any posts that indicate that tabs appeared yet a student was either waitlisted or denied?

Good luck to all!

SFTuftsMom, I feel very confident in saying your daughter has been accepted and huge congratulations!

My daughter is a current BC junior and had the pay enrollment confirmation fee and Financial Aid on her tabs as well. These tabs are the only hint you’ll get that you are IN!!!

Where exactly are these tabs on the portal?
