Congrats to all. Confused Mom That’s really weird.

LisaK. One thing I’d suggest if the schools offer it is to visit and do an overnight. Stay in the dorm with other students, eat the food, go to a class. It really helped my older son make his decision.

Received the packet today (still not updated online) saying I got accepted to the Commonwealth College (undeclared). $2000 scholarship as well. Here are my stats if you’re interested:

In-state
4.12 weighted GPA
2220 SAT (700 M, 720 CR, 800 W/10 E)
780 Math II, 780 Chem
33 ACT (35 E, 32 S, 32 R, 33 M), 8 essay

For Ithaca Mom - the 2012-2013 out of state tutition, fees, room and board added up to about $36,500 although that may include health insurance that you can waive if you have it already. It will probably go up for 2013-2014 although they have not said by how much

BTMell - Thanks for the advise. We are trying sleep over/hook up with students at a few schools. S applied to UCONN and UMASS w/o seeing since we will be moving ot New England and we know no one in that area— we will visit both but I don’t think the overnite will be an option.

Ah, too bad LisaK! My older son applied mostly to small LACs so that was available to them. I laugh remembering his overnight at Hampshire when the overnight coordinator called and said “do you think he’d mind doing the overnight with two girls?” And I’m thinking “that will NOT be a problem!” Where are you moving from and to (you can PM if you don’t want to advertise!) We moved to NH from New Orleans. Talk about moving from the deep south to the deep north. And absolutely love it up here.

ETA: mamel94 - my son received the Chancellor’s scholarship and we are from out of state.
