RD Hopeful Hoyas, How Are You Doing?

you can be my Karl Rove.

I think you're too nice (and a bad liar) to be a politician, calidan

Thanks, I guess? :p Well it's true- I'm just too nice and too honest of a person to be a convincing liar. :)

Yea you were doing a horrible job at the Brown board cough

Augh. AUGHAUGHAUGH. let's just not think about/mention that, okay? ;)

I heart you, Zante. You totally liven this board up!

lol mmk zipzip
I love this board!

I had a bit of a quarrel about the application with my parents tonight, who have been trying to micromanage my applications. They did not want me to say that I would be applying as a Government major, since according to them, "everyone who goes to Georgetown wants to go into politics." But I overruled them, because the Government program, connection with SFS (I'm applying to the regular college though), and D.C. location are the main reasons for me to apply to the school. Do you think I was right?

yes i definitely think you were right. if you want to major in government and that is your passion, then you needed to convey that in your application through ur extracurriculars, essays, etc. it would seem inconsistent IMO if you were to have all this information abot how you wanted to go to Gtown for politics but then entered with an undecided or different major. good luck!

Well the thing is I have a few government-related ECs but none that truly stand out among the average gov't major applicant. But what I write about in the essay is my passion for politics that I've had ever since I was young and how the gov't program is the main reason for me to attend Georgetown.

then it sounds like u made the right choice!

oooh, dan, i'm going to go into politics...are you sure you won't run as my opponent?

Since I'm an EA-deferee, might as well tell you that I'm doing just fine as an RD applicant.. lol..

Thanks, Andrew. You haven't been on recently- been busy?

And babybird- yes, I will run against you! As long as you're running for the office of..... the President! Hahaha... but you never know. :p

:( i cannot run for President...i was born in England...

OMG THAT'S SO COOL! That really is kinda cool, thugh. I can get Irish citizenship if I wanna (my grandma was born there). Looks like I have one less person to beat, then. :)

eh, i'll just be the shadowy "behind the man" figure, then....or mebbe a Cabinet member! woot!

Sure- I'll make you... um... whatever you want to be (except for secretary of state, I already promised that to my US History teacher ;)).

pssh, like i'd ever turn up on your campaign...although I could get one of those "come here, you political maverick, and i shall give you a high position so it looks like I am nonpartisan"

teehee

I might appoint you to a lower level federal court, but that'd be as high as you'd get on my political ladder..........sorry.

Haha... you got told. Babybird- you're pretty conservative, right? (Haha.. laughing at my unintentional pun of "right?"... I'm so cool ;))
