They send out letters tomorrow, and emails will go out (not sure if this is just to accepted students?) Thursday 'introducing you to Reed culture'.

Found this out via a congratulatory (!!!) phone call from someone in admissions. YAY.

Anyone else received a phone call?

wow congrats! how exciting! no phone call here, hoping that doesn’t mean i was rejected… what time did you get the call?

I got the phone call too!!! That’s what I love about them - they really care about the individual!!

I got the call at 6:07 and I’m in California!

So excited, I feel great!
There’s an activities day/overnight April 16-17th, maybe I’ll see some of you there.

Good luck to those who haven’t heard yet!

if you got the call at your home phone number, do you have caller ID? if so, what did it say? i hate to be annoying/ask obnoxious questions haha, but we missed a call at 7:15 from “out of area” (I live in Chicago). Obviously it could have been anyone but now I’m a bit anxious.

I got a call at 6:15 PST on my cell phone. :>

Also, the area code was 503, if that helps you at all.

I got the call around 6pm on my cell phone, as well.

503 is Portland’s area code. That’s the number they should have called with. It did not show up as Restricted or Private on my cell phone, but I figure the number should show up on any phone…But I’m not tech savvy at all, so maybe somebody else can back that up.

Hmm… well, they can’t have called all of the people they accepted in one day. Right?? I mean, that has to be at least 700 people or so. And also, they’re calling after office hours, so the above stands (hopefully) even firmer.

That being said, I’m still somewhat freaking out about the phone call or lack thereof. The email, too… I wonder whether it goes out to everyone or just accepted students. Ahhhhhh…

I hope so the_daydreamer!! Otherwise it’s bad news for us.

Emails go to   :(

I didn’t get a phone call either! freaking out so badly!! I really really like reed, hopefully this doesn’t mean that I didn’t get in…

My cell phone was off…didn’t get a call at home either. Ack, college admissions people always pick the wrong time to call me…

Oh no, I haven’t gotten a phone call yet either! Guys, I’m seriously going to cry if I don’t get into Reed. :frowning: Because I’m on the East Coast (PA, specifically), I’m hoping that if I do get a call, it will be later in the evening than it is right now…

And now I’m going to start hating anybody that calls my house who isn’t from Reed…

the admission page said that the admission decisions go out on april 1st, how come people have been getting calls?

Most schools say April 1st but actually release decisions before then.

Well that is truly unfortunate :-/

I agree with the above statement: they can’t possibly call all 700 accepted students in one sitting, right?

hmmmmmmmm

Well, apparently according to last year’s thread, some students who did not receive the phone call were eventually accepted into Reed.

From what I have found, a lot of the called students were “flown in” for a special event.

Can anyone touch base on this?

yea obviously there is absolutely no way they called every accepted student in one evening. I’m sure we’ll all find out tomorrow or the next day…

Well, apparently, emails will be sent tomorrow!

According to last year’s thread, they were sent at really random times throughout the day…

I really hope that I get a haiku :[

Gahh, I’d better find out soon!

I just woke up from having a nightmare about getting rejected to Reed. Quite frankly, this is getting a bit ridiculous. x3 Can’t even stop worrying about it while I’m unconscious.
