no nightmares yet here but i can't help myself from checking the cc forums religiously!! News always comes here 1st!! I'm hoping 1 fine day I'll come here and see posts saying Reed has decided to notify us online and that decisions are up!!!

I got in! My dad just called me to say they called my home number today. I'm from Hawai'i, so my guess is they waited to call other time zones.

^that's so cool. congratulations!!
I doubt they'll phone internationals though? ah, the waiting is tooooo long.

Hey guys. Okay, so I called the admissions department yesterday, and this is what they said: they reported that they are only calling people in "special circumstances" (about which they didn't elaborate), but that they are sending out emails today and tomorrow to inform all applicants of their admissions decision.

So that's the story, straight from the people who should know it best. (I say "should" because often times it's admissions officers who seem to be the most in the dark: for example, I called Washington University in St. Louis on a Wednesday afternoon a couple weeks ago to ask if their decisions would be up that Friday. The woman on the phone laughed and said no, Friday was far too soon and decisions would probably be out the last week of April. Later that same night, however, decisions were posted online. Case and point.)

^^ I just called as well! I got the exact same answer, so we can definitely conclude that the calling situation does not equal ultimate defeat:]

"because often times it's admissions officers who seem to be the most in the dark"

Maybe you mean "offices" since officers are unlikely to answer the main phone. ;)

Well I doubt that an office would know anything :]

So they are going to send out emails over two days? I wish they'd send them all at once and get it over with. Please post if you get an email.

Actually, my phone conversation did not include any discussion about two email days.

Thanks for letting me know what the admissions office said... I'm so nervous... I really hope I get an email from Reed today and not tomorrow, because the suspense is killing me.

This is a little confusing. Post here if you've gotten an email because I doubt I have any "special circumstances" concerning my app (ie not expecting a call).

Special circumstances might be from the school's viewpoint, possibly a hook.

Good point. However they plan on contacting me, they haven't done it yet! I'm so impatient.....

I actually am a special circumstances (not hooked) applicant, since I applied early admission (skipping senior year kind, not ED kind) so that make sense. I have not received any e-mails, so hopefully that will give some people at least a sliver of peace of mind.

I got la depressing and dreaded waitlisted e-mail.
The horror.

Nevermind, I got in! Best internet admissions message ever. Can't wait for the confetti-filled letter.

Just got my email.
Time to get some time!
Very happy right now.

Grrrrr... Where is MY email...? I really hope they aren't staggering the send-out and that it's just taking it a bit to get to my mailbox...

WOOO!!!!! I got in!

my life = anticipation = slow, painful death
