Re-score on act

Anyone know of anyone who did an ACT re-score? Were they successful
I just got my act scores back and got a 29.25. It is heartbreaking as I really needed a 30 for the schools I wanted.
I am thinking about re-scoring the test by hand in hope that one question was marked incorrectly which would put me to 30. I got
33 math
32 reading
28 english
24 science

I think the science is really low for me so there might be a mistake or the curve was really harsh.
Thanks in advance

My understanding is that a student cannot ask for a re-score. The request needs to be made by the school/teacher on behalf of the student, with a compelling rationale to support the request.

@zxcvbnm1216 Do you absolutely need a 30? Or is it a “recommended” score?

Regardless, the following might be helpful if you haven’t already read it:

@MITer94 A lot of the coaches I talked to said that the difference between a 29 and 30 is huge for recruited athletes.

@MITer94 I will ask the coaches exactly what I need

What sport? We have been told to ‘shoot’ for a 30. Score for science went down his time so I think Science may have been harder. Why is there a huge difference between 29 and 30?

does anyone know of anyone who did this service and if they were successful

I’ve heard from friends (recruited for D1 and D2 athletics) that a 30 is a big cutoff point, I don’t exactly know why, but I can say that I’ve heard it is indeed the cutoff.

The likelihood that the machine incorrectly scored your test is extremely low. I’ve never heard of a successful multiple choice challenge (I have for the writing portion, however). The point being: you can pay for a re-score, but I would not. I advise you take the test again; after all, for schools that superscore, you need just one point.
