^^^ So true haha. It would be really nice to see that, though

I went to Stanford with my family (2 alumni) for the Notre Dame football game. As I walked around, my thoughts:
“I really want to go here.”
“I really hope I get in.”
“I really want to study at Stanford.”
“I could really picture myself here.”
“I think I want to go to Stanford.”
“I really want to go here.”
“I really hope I get in.”
“I really want to study at Stanford.”
“I could really picture myself here.”
“I think I want to go to Stanford.”
“I really want to go here.”
“I really hope I get in.”
“I really want to study at Stanford.”
“I could really picture myself here.”
“I think I want to go to Stanford.”
and on and on and on…

I CANNOT WAIT until next week (betting on 12/13). I think I have decent chances, but so much depends on the mood of whoever reads my app.

I forgot my CSS profile until the beginning of December (12/6). Will that affect my application, or will it just mean that my financial aid info will be late?

I’ve heard from other people on here that a late CSS profile just means you get your financial aid information later.

One week. Nope can’t do it.

EA for other colleges are pouring in already. A friend of mine got into her top choice with good financial aid and even though hers wasn’t a super prestigious college with acceptance rates under 10% and stuff, it’s making me stress out even more. So many people already know where they’re going and then there’s us and a high chance of waiting 3-4 more months for other acceptances.

Pleaselikemyapplication.

I’ll be hiding under my covers. Call me when it’s next Friday.

I’M FROM NEVADA.

So my best friend applied to Harvard REA. It’s nice to be friends with someone who’s aiming as high as you are, but it’s even nicer to have someone to mutually panic with.

Still, he gets his decision on the 13th, and we’ll probably get ours on the 16th, considering they shifted the deadline back to the 4th.

Whether or not either of us get in to our respective colleges, those 3 days between his decision and my decision will be absolute hell.

@killbeefgoham

Most here believe that results will be posted on the 13th, so don’t worry about that period of limbo.

@juniperhills

Yay, I’m not alone! North or south? Haha I hope we can both make our state proud and prove that the awful education here can still do some good!

New member here.

I practically envy you guys 'cause I am going to get the email first thing in the morning since I am in China…Not going to need morning coffee that day, one way or the other:-(

Anyway, good luck you all!

I vote that we should all work together to write a message to future applicants as the first post on the 2018 results thread. Something along the lines of “your life will not end if you don’t get into Stanford.” Anyone agree?

@Keepyourshirton

I feel your pain, I’m in Taiwan…:((
Anyone from Taiwan on here???

Good idea orbdas. And then for people who don’t get into Stanford they can come back and post the amazing schools they do get into to prove to the future children of america that they will survive and be successful.

Applying from Shanghai, China (but US citizen)!

@orbdas
that sounds like an excellent idea.

I’m from Northern Nevada! What about you?

I’m from Vegas :)

Omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg. I wonder how many Nevadans are applying. I know a bunch of athletes who signed. Don’t you wish you were an athlete?

@juniperhills

I know it’s driving me crazy having no idea what we’re up against! It could be 50 people applying or it could be 500 for all I know. I was an athlete freshmen year but then I didn’t stick with it because I wanted to devote more time to student council, probably should have just done both though :(

Okay, I’ll start. Copy and paste this into your post and throw in whatever you want to say.

Dear future applicants to the world’s largest Mexican restaurant,

First of all, the fact that you are even considering applying to this school says something about your character. You are certainly motivated and ambitious. You are most likely intelligent and hardworking. You might even be attractive. People have probably told you these things throughout your entire life. So why should a bunch of worried teenagers be telling it to you now?

Because it’s true. Looking at the posts in this thread may convince you otherwise, but you must remember that elite college admissions are not indicative of future success, and certainly not of future happiness. Look at all these dedicated scholars, star athletes, world-class musicians, amazing artists, and great citizens who didn’t get into this school. Are they condemned to a second-rate future because of the decision of some mystical tribe in Montag Hall? No. They will go on to do great things for great causes. And, we would presume, so will you.

Stanford is not life. It is an institution that is made up of the people… If you are a true person you will excel wherever you go. It’s not the institution that makes your career it’s who you are that makes a difference. Anything can happen in the lifetimes that we live in and in the end those changes and our human desire to improve ourselves will always take precedence… Keep this in mind and realize that stanford is a single branch in a tree that is ever growing…
