I’m trying to find some colleges that either are reached or safety schools for me. My EC’s are pretty average. Not horrible but not something special. I would say my essays are definitely above average.
What are some good colleges (private or public) that have a strong business and engineering reputation that I have a chance of attending.
I already applied to UT and A&M and I think I’m going to do early decision for Wake Forest. Is there anything other colleges I should look into? I’ve gotten a 27 ACT multiple times so my super score is a 30. Thanks
Texas is my home state but I’m not very interested in staying in Texas.
My UW is around 3.72
I don’t have a budget but it’s always a plus if they offer scholarships
I’m happy with going anywhere however I’d prefer a well known school. I’m very open to my options
UT and A&M are still reaches right? You would already know if you were admitted to TAMU Mays. ACT SS isn’t necessarily useful. For most schools you have a 27 ACT.
You need a budget number. What is your FAFSA EFC? Have you had a serious talk about money? DO your parents know TAMU (other than pathways) and UT (not at all) are such reaches? You should apply to UTD and UH in my opinion for safety.
I did apply to UTD. TAMU isn’t very high on my list but UT was. Im not a huge fan of any other schools in Texas. I’m aware these are reaches but I have a safety school I’m a huge fan of (ASU) so I’m searching more for reaches. FAFSA didn’t offer my family much, if any, but attending private schools is definitely an option. Right now Wake Forest is my #1. I’m particularly interested in schools like Wake Forest and Colorado School of mines. Any opinion helps. Thank you
CSM will possibly admit you as full pay and offer very little merit money (look a the yield), it will be close to 50K a year. If you drop or weed out of engineering, there IS no business fall back degree. CSM is known for rigour, do you have calc and physics APs? What is your math subscore? How much will ASU cost you? Have you looked at Alabama and the southern options that might give you merit?
What do you mean by fafsa not offering you much? What is your actual budget number, this is really important. ASK your parents what they will pay. WF is $77,342 a year…
Do you attend a private school? Are you getting any help in this process?
Glad you applied to UTD, if you are honors college material, UH might be worth a shot.
My parents will pay upward of $50,000
ASU gave me a $12,000 a year scholarship so it will only cost around $30,000 a year to attend
My school offers Dual enrollment so I take those instead of AP’s. I’ve gotten a 30 on my math ACT. I looked ah Alabama but I didn’t like how big Greek life is. (Only 9% at ASU)
I actually was looking into CSM Economics major today as well. I’m not sure if my major so I’m keeping my options open
You’ll probably get more money from University of AZ. Also try Oklahoma Univ, Oklahoma State, LSU. Another random school you could try could be Michigan State, if you want to experience snow.
