Reached maximum messages….again

I have the reaction emojis. Just need to hold finger in that thumbs up for them to appear.

Thanks, that is what I do! But the pop up never comes. I will have to check my settings, maybe somehow pop up is disabled on the IPad or something of that ilk!

ETA: It does work on the IPad if I touch the screen, which I never do because I have the IPad in a magic keyboard (which I love)…pressing on the trackpad/hovering over the thumbs up doesn’t pop up the icons. Mystery solved!

I’m going to check mine too since the screenshots you have shared look different from mine (re: fonts). And maybe reboot/refresh…

I see these for me:

When I log in as you I see no dots (they go away once you click your avatar and display them), but there is a list of notifications. You can click the Dismiss button to clear them.

I have those notifications now, but they are inconsistent, and I don’t have them this morning

How can we PM users who have private/hidden profiles now? We used to be able to PM them from our own account by entering their handle when starting a new PM, but now that option seems to be disabled, and the only way to PM someone is to click on their avatar and then click the message button. But, you don’t have that option if you click on the avatar of someone with a private/hidden profile.

Am I just missing something?

Well….hit your avatar. Then look for the little envelope. You will need to click that twice. Then the “new message” box will appear…and you type in the screen name. It worked for me yesterday!

Just checked…it still works!

Yep that does still work….it’s obvious on the computer now that I looked there, but I was on my iPhone and the new message box is there but smaller and unmarked so I missed it!

FWIW - I had issues yesterday PM’ing from my phone because the envelope wasn’t doing anything when I clicked it. Seems to be working today.

I hate to say this…but it is my opinion that this site doesn’t work very well when using a phone.

I wouldn’t go that far. But it is my belief that the site is not as efficient on a phone, which is a head-scratcher since the target growth demographic - students - is far more likely to use a mobile device.

I know doing an app is low on the priority list, but a log while ago now…when there was one…it worked far better on the phones.

I’m with @thumper1 about the phone - I have way more glitches on the iphone than on my computer and I use the same browser on both.

Yesterday I got the “502 error” message most of the morning and couldn’t post. Cleared cache on phone and iPad and went to my computer but nothing worked. It finally cleared but it was very glitchy. I also miss the app. Wish it was back.
