Trying to compare Ohio State and Miami. Receiving $8000 merit aide to Miami and $2850 to Ohio State. Looking at simply the Tuition/fees and Room and Board… ??
Obviously there will be other expenses, books…etc. Without those, they seem to be very close. However, Miami has added fees that are mandatory. Help!!!
@countrylife OSU has some additional expenses as well - I put the link below for the various fees. In our evaluation, Miami and OSU are very comparable in COA.

I’d suggest you calculate TOTAL COA for all 4 years as well, not just first year as you compare the two. Miami has the tuition freeze program for incoming freshman which OSU does not. Upward creeping COA every year adds up even if you don’t think each year’s increase is ‘that’ much as you go along.
