ok so I took the SAT for the first time last year without any prep. I ended up with a 2000, is it possible for me to get 2200+ with a considerable amount of prep?

hmmm let me tell you one thing that worked for my older brother... He had a 1930 on the SAT. He said he wanted to approach the SAT diffrent this time because he was literally mentally fatigued. He skipped the essay entirely! He skipped the math entirely! And then he did his reading with alot of effort and analyzed it and checked his work. Gained I think around 70 points (give or take 10) and ended up 200,200,740

well, mental fatigue isn't a problem for me, and I know the material, its just that the questions seem more obscure than whate they are on the practice tests...

that's just stupid
colleges would see that you wussed out on the other two sections and not give you credit for the section you tried on

If you're applying to a top college, a stunt like this would look so incredibly suspicious it's not even funny.

720 710 700 :( . . . . gotta improve CR!

800 200 200 :)

Harvard adcom: w t f?

who cares if you choose to take one section?

It just looks crazy.

dude they only take your best scores per section.

I know that. And I don't care. It looks crazy. You send your whole score report, they only use certain scores but they see them all. Besides, you could at least fill in random bubbles and run the risk of getting higher than 200.

thats true you could fill bubbles, but then you would look like you were trying or something, if you do this technique colleges see your logic/technique your doing.

that sounds like a really bad idea.

lol i want to go from a 1750 to a 2200 ...lol...

if you used the skipping sections technique, it would be easy for you to cheat and work on your section during the other sections' times

i doubt a 740 200 200 score can be trusted

Even if colleges do take your best subscores they will still look at your best combined score in a single sitting. They aren't stupid and they know when you're playing games. Just because a college says they take your best scores it doesn't mean they don't care what you got overall in a single sitting.

how is that "playing games"

how much i can go with 1480?

Out of 1600?
