There’s a ton of healthy options if you don’t want to go down the antibiotic route. If you take an antibiotic too long you have the chance of becoming immune to it. Happened to my friend who took Sulfa. Anyway try lemons and honey. Sounds crazy but if you wash your face and put honey with lemon juice on it for about 5 minutes then wash it off your face will be so smooth and you will have clear, open pores.

My mom makes me do this facial thing with strawberry and honey mixed together. Put it on your face, leave it till it dries, and wash it off. Pat dry with a towel. You’ll see results by the next day. But do it regularly.

Tried everything, I had moderate to severe cystic acne. It ruins your self confidence and is painful physically too. Most of the time with cystic acne it has nothing to do with what you’re doing, eating, etc. I am on my last 2 months of Accutane and it’s worked fabulously. Its definitely not something you need to take if you only have a few pimples here and there. It’s a very serious drug that has very serious side effects to some people. I had to think about it for a while before I decided to start it.

1) Wash your face twice a day (NOT with hand soap! Oh god, people actually do that Go to Walgreens and pick something that looks right up)

2) Moisturizing after washing your face is important. Do it.

3) Drink water.

For me, washing my face less actually worked out. I’ll wash with water and every other day Castile soap. My skin cleared up amazingly once I stopped using drugstore brands. I don’t really moisturize or use astringent, so I have a really simple routine that cleared my TERRIBLE acne.

I really do recommended DIY face masks with honey, egg, banana, cinnamon, basically whatever you have in your house! It’s a cheap way to take care and really clean out your face.

If BP is too harsh, try witch hazel?
Oh. I’ve eating a lot of spicy food can irritate acne?

Just try finding what works for your skin.

Good luck!

First thing: go to a dermatologist . A doctor is the only person that can correctly diagnose the severity of your case. My daughter had cystic acne all over her face and back. My son looked like he had severe acne but after cleaning his face with some good prescription products it got better and my daughter only kept getting worst after one year of antibiotics. She finally did 6 months of Accutane. It has been a year and if you see her now you would never think she ever had acne. It worked like a miracle. It was not an easy treatment but worth the efford.

Both of my boys have moderate cystic acne. I had it as a teen as well. Twenty year old’s skin is markedly improved. Seventeen year old struggles with outbreaks. It is somewhat controlled with antibiotics and prescription meds. I get frustrated with advice regarding home remedies and over the counter products for kids with true cystic acne. There is no cure ( though Accutane seems to really work). See a dermatologist.
