Hey guys, I have been reading these forums for quite some time. I have seen many kids get into schools like Wharton and Stern with SATS lower than 2200. I just took my sat today. If I get 2000-2150 on it do you think it would be enough to get me into the mentioned schools. I have 95-97 unweighted gpa this year, as well as a lot of ecs that show leadership and that a posess a great deal of knowledge for business and stuff?? please help - thanks - Mike

OK SAT scores never make or break an applicant's chances of admission. As long as you do decent on them (2100+) no college is going to reject you solely based on that.

That said, SAT scores will never get you into the college. STATS get you considered, not admitted. It all comes down to your transcript and essays.

oh, alright sounds good then. I hope i did well today.

I ended up at UC Berkeley (EECS no less), UCLA, NYU, Cornell et al with a 2080/2060 (depends on highest sitting or highest each section), score so yes it's possible.

I think swuarehead's post is being hotly contested since some recent articles appeared (middlebury) and this year's results seem very score focused. If your SAT is below average for a top school and you're not a urm, recruited athlete, etc., your chances are not good. An unhooked candidate needs to be in the 75% for a fighting chance. My opinion and the general feeling at my school anyway.
