<p>Where can a 5'0" tall girl find SHORT, SLIM dress pants? I'm usually either a size 00 or size 000 in juniors clothing sizes at most stores. However, most stores do not stock these sizes (especially for dress pants, for some nutty reason!), and even when they do, the pants don't fit me everywhere--too loose at the waist, too tight at the thighs, etc. That's why I won't order anything online without trying it on in a store first--at which point, what's the point of buying it online anyway, since I'm already there at the store trying the dress pants on?!</p>
<p>I can't afford (and can't find) any place to get the pants tailored for a reasonable price and in a reasonable time frame. I have tried belts and etc, but nothing seems to work well. I have even tried shopping at the kids sections of stores, but the pants don't...sit...right, if anyone knows what I really mean by that, lol. ;P</p>
<p>Anyone know any good, relatively cheap (like, $10-$40 range only, please) stores where I can find petite, short, slim dress pants? Thanks in advance, everyone!</p>
<p>I have the exact same problem! I’m not as slim as you but I am the same height and I have never been able to find any pair of pants that aren’t at least 2 inches too long. Even “petite” sizes are too big! I always end up having to buy very high heels because I can’t afford to buy a decent pair and then pay an additional cost to get them tailored.</p>
<p>I would try looking outside the juniors department, to start with. They cater to a very specific crowd, and not all of us fit into it. I buy most of my pants in the misses section, now. I am too big for petites but you may be able to find a brand in that department that fits. If you already have some pants and just need new ones, it might help to just stick to the brand you know works. Brands that run small might be your friend.</p>
<p>I feel your pain! I am nowhere as thin as you and I have trouble finding petite pants to fit. HOnestly the only solution that I have come up with is to have things tailored, but I know you said that wasn’t an option.</p>

While I understand that juniors dress pants offer limited selections, I was hoping that they mostly had smaller waist sizes available along with shorter lengths, so I have avoided the women’s and misses sections of stores for those reasons.</p>
<p>To give you a general idea of the waist size range we are looking at for my waist, I tried on dress pants in the girl’s sections at JCPenney and the size 12 (that’s for girls age 12!!) fell off my waist ridiculously easily, and I was too mortified to go back and buy a size 10 in girl’s dress pants. Not to even mention the fit is so not right for a woman’s body! -_-</p>

<p>No ideas here, but both my Ds are teeny and petite, and both are having real problems finding professional clothes these days. The best we’ve found is Macy’s petites, but it’s difficult enough finding small sizes without having to worry about looking matronly! Even so, everything needs to be hemmed. And the kids sizes definitely do NOT sit right.</p>

<p>You can try Alloy or alloy.com. They have dressy pants with a variety of inseams. I think 30" is the shortest, and I believe they carry sizes 00 & 0. Prices tend to be reasonable, and they’re probably having sales right now.</p>
<p>Hmm well i don’t think it’s your height so much as waist size because whenever I buy pants, they always come in a range of lengths, from like 30" to 36". My sister is about 5’1"/size 4 and pants seem to fit her fine from anywhere. I’m guessing you’re very skinny and narrow-hipped because junior’s sizes are smaller than regular sizes, so a 00 in junior’s sort of wouldn’t exist in regular - that’s likely the problem. And a lot of stores start from size 2, not 0 or 00 for some reason. So you might have to buy a size 2 and wear a belt - it shouldn’t be that big of a difference. I’ve seen lots of stores carry a size 0 though (but rarely 00).</p>
<p>Dress pants are usually worn with heels so people often buy them in a longer length. Try New York & Company, they have lots of dress pants and a 30" inseam which is what my sister wears. Also try Delia’s or Alloy’s - they both carry size 0, and H&M has a 24" waist. Also, i’ve gotten stuff hemmed for $10 so it’s not expensive everywhere and is really quick. </p>
<p>@cuteaccountant - I’m only 2" taller than you with kind of short legs for my height and I usually get the regular length pants (32" inseam) and I always see shorter length pants available…I don’t know why you’d have a problem if you’re at least a size 2…but my advice is never shop Junior’s - those clothes have weird sizing. Usually the women’s section at any stores has jeans/pants in a bunch of lengths. </p>

<p>And if you find yourself really unable to find anything… you could get them tailored. I don’t have much experience with getting things tailored, so I’m not sure if it’s expensive, but that would do it.</p>

<p>I’m 5’3 and 100-105 lbs. I get my work clothes from Banana Republic and Ann Taylor/Ann Taylor Loft. The 00P in pants/skirts fit perfect. Also H&M has great business casual clothes if you one around you. They have a lot of trendy skinny, black dress pants which are usually cut ankle-length. Their size 2s are a snug fit.</p>
<p>Uniqlo is a clothing store that was originally from Japan, but they have one location in Soho NYC. I’m petite too (5’1’) and I never tried dress pants (they have them probably), but their skinny jeans fit great and were pretty cheap, like less than $50. Tailoring for pants is free at Uniqlo.</p>
<p>I recently bought a basic suit for interviews from the petite’s line at Talbots. Length of sleeves and pants were perfect and didn’t need tailoring.</p>
<p>H&M <em>might</em> have something, but they might have to be tailored at the bottom, because of your height…which is super easy to do with a sewing machine.</p>

<p>I just checked the sizing charts at JCPenney’s girls section, and I didn’t realize I was trying on a 24" waist size pants!! Since when have the girls sizes gone up so much?! Didn’t size 12 girls used to be so much slimmer? Or maybe I was just always wearing the slim pants…huh.</p>

<p>OMG! I just found that Banana Republic goes as low as size 000 (22" waist!), although none of those are in stock atm. However, their size 00 (23" waist!) has a few pants in stock. Would I be able to find these in stores if I went to look?</p>

<p>Muscle will build up on your waist area, so your size will go up. It has worked for me (not talking about pant size, but I’m talking about my abs ).</p>
<p>Don’t really have the time to work out my abs, seeing as I need these dress pants within a week or two! And I’m already insanely active anyway, being a long distance/marathon runner…for which abs are actually not ideally necessary anyway. But yeah…thanks?</p>
