So here’s my dilemma:
I am pretty adamant on majoring in marketing, perhaps fashion marketing. The colleges I am most interested in are NYU Stern, FIT, CUNY Baruch, BU, Northeastern, Syracuse, Bentley, etc.
Not interested in Fordham because it is religiously affiliated lol.
credentials:
SAT: 2060 (crit reading + math = 1330) will be taking ACT in the fall
GPA: 90.4 weighted
ethnicity: pacific islander
might be able to fill out legacy form w my dad’s cousin?
President of Symphonic Band (2 years in a row)
Marching band (4 years and have officer position)
Fencing (4 years - 2 years varsity - captain (every senior is a captain tho)
Habitat for Humanity (2 years)
Model UN (2 years but maybe will put 4 lol idk really wished I joined sooner)

I took a summer program at NYU (SPS High School Academy) for Integrated Marketing, and I may ask that teacher to write me a rec letter which I’ve heard will increase my chances
my high school is very competitive ; no doubt lots of ppl will be applying to Stern and NYU in general. I am definitely doing Early Action for Stern. I really want to go to college in NYC, but Stern is extremely difficult - especially because my credentials are pretty lacking
but the CUNYs have absolutely horrible dorming - I am planning to dorm the first year and get an apartment the next, but I need at least somewhat decent dorms for that first year and Baruch won’t be very good with that at all
thats why NYU is my top choice but they have extremely competitive business program
I still have options in Boston, like Northeastern…but I really want NYC lol
so my questions are:
What are my chances of getting into Stern? How can I get in?
Should I apply to a different school at NYU so maybe I have better chances of getting accepted and then transfer to Stern? I heard stern is really hard to transfer to though bc it’s so competitive
What other colleges should I look at in NYC that offer marketing?
What are my chances of getting into BU and Northeastern?
If you know anything about these colleges, tell me anything!
How do I not feel devastated after being rejected from my dream school? I feel like NYU has everything I’m looking for and if I don’t get in I’ll be crushed. How do I get out of the mindset that if “I don’t go to this college I will die”? but at the same time, what other colleges are out there for me?
Please name potential colleges in Boston too!
I am looking for primarily colleges in a city, tri-state area and Boston, offer marketing, I like campus but needs to be somewhat close to city, and may be able to accept me lol
