What are my chances for NYU?

I am applying to NYU Regular Decision and I was wondering what specific school would be better fit for my stats and interests.

Because I’m looking into marketing as a major, Stern is the clear choice. But it also seems very competitive. I’m also looking into communications and media studies so Steinhardt and maybe CAS are alternatives.

So in short, I’m wondering how much of a reach Stern would be and what I can do to improve my chances? Thank you

-Weighted GPA: 4.5
-Unweighted GPA: 4.0

-SAT: 2040 (CR: 730; Math: 690; Writing: 620)

(Also, would you recommend taking subject tests or trying to improve my SAT I score?)

-AP Scores
[European History (4), Calculus BC (5), Language & Composition (5)]
Planning to take: Psychology, Calculus BC, Macroeconomics

EC/Volunteer/Achievements
-Newspaper Editor
-Cross Country
-Track & Field
-Local democrat group, fundraising

-Tutoring homeless students
-Peer court participant
-Blood donor group member
-Volunteer at Library

-National Honors Society
-AP Scholar

Thanks for chancing me!

Your grades are very strong. Your SAT is fine but could definitely use some improvement for a better shot at Stern. Probably fine for CAS or Steinhardt, though. I’d skip Stern if I were you. I think your shot there is pretty low to be honest, more so because you lack demonstrated interest and experience in business. But I think you would be a strong candidate for CAS or Steinhardt and have a very solid shot at getting in there! Or you could always do Gallatin and design your own curriculum, maybe something along the lines of marketing. Good luck!
