well vtran, gd luck!!
ya sound killer but its ur choice :)

Anyone read Shakespeare. that guy writes some effing kewl stuff. The first couple of pages of "All's well that ends well" is about virginity. And I actualyl understnad Shakespeare! that makes me all excited.

well I've been studying bits and pieces over the year. Right now, I could prolbly skim a 3 on all the exams (except comparative government- I feel really screwed about that).

I don't learn anything in school. The only classes where I am challenged are AP Physics and Chem and the only class where I learn is AP Physics. Every other class is dumb beyond comprehension. Well except US History. the teach is kewl but he talks more about current events than history (He knows A LOT of it though). I took AP Computer Science last year and AP Geography. I studied AP Biology on my own this year for another reason ( UIL competition) . I figure why not go for the 2 English tests in one year (save me the trouble of tkaing one of them next year).
Let's see... that's 7 exams for classes I've taken and one exam I prepared for for other reaosns. I heard AP Stats and AP Psych were not that bad so I signed up for those (thouhg I find Stats to be an enjoyable mental exercise and Psych to be suprisingly enjoyable). a teach from school told me AP Gov was not difficult. I read through the cliffnotes and it was very sensible and really easy. I signed up for AP Comparative cuz it was free if I took the AP Gov exam.

I have review books for all the subjects (except for Physics because I don't need one- my teacher is THAT awesome). It's not that bad nor that difficult. Course, I have not completely studied for half my exams ( I'd probly get a 3 right now on those tests) but I will. 1-2 weeks is plenty of time to fill my head with useless knowledge.

I decided to take all these exams cuz I thought it'd look good on the app. I'm sorta a pragmatist. Unless there is a reason to, I won't go the long haul and learn something adequately. Getting a neato award was enough incentive to make me study. Learnings all the same for me. A lot of information that although neat and kewl (specially science- Bio, Phys, and Chem rule!) , usually has no practical applications.

I don't see what is so suspicious about taking 12 AP exams. Actually taking the exams (and dishing out 55 bucks in the process) is stupid unless it somehow benefits you. If you want to "challenge" yourself, take a practice test at home and same yourself the money. Like half of what we do in school, the reason you take the exam is so it looks good on your app( or if you want college credit). You want to prove to your dream school that you're competant and that they should take you. No different than signing up for AP Physics C cuz colleges like it or doing four years of tennis cuz it shows commitment.

BTW, I only had to pay 576 dollars ( my school lets me pay for only $55 per exam. ). Course my prep books.......... I don't even want to count how much that cost

so that's the story of why I signed up for 12 AP exams.

and no I'm not a nerd. Well, I probly am. I study too much and I'm too interested in actually learning ( I've skipped a lot this year to study). Stupid inefficient school.

So what was the point of that? I guess I just don't like to be misunderstood or misrepresented.

Oh quick question, how long should my AP Lit and Lang essays be? I find I don't write much ( 1- 3/2 pages on college ruled paper). I think a big reason fpr this isn't that I dont have a lot to write, but that I write so slowly that I dont ahve enough time to write. I guess that';s cuz my handwriting is atrocious and in order for anyone to read it, I have to slow down. Also, how bad is it if you don't have a conclusion. I did a practice essay earlier and only got done with my intro and my bodies.

I expect a no, but can I cancel certain scores to make myself qualify for this award? :-P

The deadline for score cancellation is June 15, and you won't have your scores by then (which makes sense, because otherwise anybody could simply cancel any score that they were not satisfied with). If you feel, after a certain exam, that you really didn't do well, then that's why that option is provided...

If I took:

Statistics Last year, and got 4+

Compsci AB
Calc BC
and Physics B
this year, def 4+ from what i think

and take this next year:
and Chem AP
Physics C
US History
and psychology

would i be in running for AP scholar by start of senior year?

Sagar ~ That would get you National AP Scholar, I think. 8 tests with an average of 4+ does it.

That is a perfect point in why you dont take 12 APs...I think taking 12 APs is reckless, no offense on your part...but it is the sad truth. Everyone would be taking all the APs if they wanted to look good, but it looks bad on a college applications to see so many low scores. It shows that you didn't think about it.

"Quality over quantity."

only gonna take 11 exams, dropping AP Comparative. and I thought long and hard about this. and planned a lot and studied a lot .
