Really Worried I might get rejected or rescinded

Im currently a senior and with Mid Year Reports just sent out there is one grade that worries me the most. My pre calc grade for the semester is a D+ . I take 3 APs (AP Bio, AP Stats, and AP English) I have B's in all three and my overall gpa is around a 3.6

Do colleges think really negatively towards me because of that really low grade? Will it get me rescinded or even rejected more likely?

Thanks for all comments.

It might…but I also think they might be forgiving if it isn’t tied into your major. There’s nothing you can do but get your grade up!

Yes, colleges could not admit you or could rescind you due to having a D grade whether or not that grade is in your proposed major. When you go to college, you’ll have to take courses outside of your major. Colleges want to make sure that you have the work ethic and skills to pass such courses.

Get tutoring and do other productive things to get a higher grade in that class.

Where have you applied or been accepted? A 'D" senior year is NOT GOOD if that D will show up on your report card. If it is a quarter grade that does not show, versus a semester grade that does…

If you applied to schools that require a midyear report be sent, or who have access to mid-year reports (state colleges and state U’s in your home state) electronically and who have not yet accepted you, yes your acceptance could be in jeopardy. If you have an acceptance from a college or U that does rolling admits or early admits, you have to be concerned about being rescinded.

I would talk to your counselor.

You still have two? three? months left in the semester. You have a long time to get your grade up. Just do everythign you can to raise your grade and talk to the teacher. If it looks like you’re trying your best and want to rasie you grade, I’m sure your teacher would be willing to help.

If you’ve already been accepted anywhere, make sure to contact them and let them know you’re working on getting that grade up. Luckily, getting an application rescinded is harder than screwing up getting admitted. Unfortunately, this means that your midyear report at schools where you haven’t been admitted yet could be the tipping point in your rejection. There’s nothing to do but work your booty off getting that grade up. I recommend peer tutoring, since they usually know the material in a relatable way as well as how to succeed specifically in that class.
