Hey guys, I just joined college confidential since I will be attempting to transfer schools in the 2020 cycle. Vanderbilt has been one of my top choices and I believe my stats fare well in the applicant pool. However, I don’t think my reason may be compelling enough. I currently go to a large state school where I am a rising sophomore major in biology/pre-med; and I decided that I want to add two minors in addition, both being in the Arts and Humanities field. My school has a really weak Arts and Humanities program and does not have any of the minors I want to complete and so these restrictions along with the unsuitable campus social life has led me to look elsewhere. Looking at a lot of threads however, it seems that most people wanting to transfer do so because they don’t have their desired major at their current school. To those of you who have just been through the cycle, do you think my reason to transfer is too shallow and weak? Thanks.
Not at all. D was just accepted as a transfer and it wasn’t because of a major not being available. It was because Vanderbilt offered some amazing opportunity not available at current college. Everybody has their own reasons.
Awesome, thanks for your reply. And Congratulations to your daughter!
