*Just checked - can continue to drop/add classes today. Maybe early BamaBound students are not getting locked out after all. *

That would make sense since the new seats for next Bama Bound seats haven’t been released yet (so former BBers can’t swipe those seats. Those additional seats will release on Day 2 of the next BB.

The test will be whether former BBers will be locked out on the morning of the second day of the next BB.

*
Is it possible some of these classes will be gone/filled when son registers Wed am?*

If your son doesn’t register for one of those hard to get classes as soon as his registration hold is lifted, then those who are quicker could fill up those spots.

So, if a class is highly needed/desired. Register for that class immediately, then add in your other classes. Those few seconds can make a difference.

Just added a weight training class to my s schedule. He attended the may 27-28 session. Seems we are not locked out yet, but this might change when they release the new classes.

Yeah, I wish I would have known to be faster… I really hope we aren’t logged out bc I have a MWF 8-8:50 I would REALLY like to have at a different time but nothing is available right now.

You can try sending an email to the prof of the section that you want requesting an over-ride to let you in. That won’t work if the desired class is at max capacity for fire code, but might work if some seats are being held back.

Be sure to include your CWID with the request.

You should try to have a good reason, though. :)

Thanks Mom^ but it’s all fine for now. The course he got is one of three pre-requisite intro courses, so he can always pick up the other one next semester. Also - the prof. for the one he wants that fits in his sched. this term has really REALLY bad reviews, so maybe best to wait.
Will keep checking to see if something new opens as things progress, otherwise all is well :)

Well, it’s much, much better to take a class at an undesirable time than to take a class at a better time with a prof with negative reviews. Which class is this?

AL34: When using ratemyprofessors.com, keep this in mind. A professor might be getting a poor rating not because of his or her ability to teach, but rather that the students rating him did not do well in the class and decide to slam him or her.

I say this because one of our high school teachers always seems to get slammed by her students. She’s just outstanding – both of my sons had her and just loved the class. She’s energetic, funny, keeps the class moving (not always easy to do on a 94-minute block), knows her stuff and offers a challenge to every student. The kids who blasted her were the ones who did not do as well as they could have in her class. BTW, this teacher just retired. My youngest son is quite sad, because she was that good.

Take a look at the professor’s quality rating and then make a decision on whether or not to take the class.

When looking at the ratings, if there aren’t many for a teacher, then take that with a grain of salt. Also, look to see what class the rating is for and what year the posts were made. Some teachers improve with age.

However, if there are many ratings and they’re all negative, then beware.

I do hope they told you incorrectly as my D will be doing AA and they told her in the Honors college she could sign up in the Spring so she did not register for Fall session since she is OOS and already has 16 credits.

DS just received a reply from Fran O’Neal about moving his OA credit to Spring. She said she would be happy to do it but to keep in mind that it requires him to have no more than 15 credits planned for Spring (obviously!) Said she would open the necessary number of slots to make this possible for any who might need it. I suggest anyone in this situation contact her and get on the list.
