Rec center questions...

Does anyone go there regularly and know how busy it is normally? Mainly curious about the cardio machine area. Also where can you park? I think I read there is guest parking near or meter parking near one of the dorms. Would a gold parking sticker be viable anywhere close for the center?

Thanks!

it’s busy during the week in the middle of the days- 4-7, is normally busy. I went on sunday night once and barely anyone was in there! It sucks when you have to wait for the cardio machines to be available. So try a sunday night?

Sorry to bring this up again, but does Rec center have their own parking lot?
I don’t want to walk from there all the way back to Lot 30 after workout…

Yes, the Rec Center has their own parking lot for anyone with a permit. It’s limited to 90 minutes, however. I parked there once to go to go to the library and stayed there for 3-4 hours and didn’t get a citation. But I also know someone who actually went to the Rec Center for 2 hours and got a citation.

Hi. I go to the gym regularly and I can say that it is the least busy in the mornings and progressively gets more busy throughout the day until it peaks at between 8-10 PM depending on the kind of day really.

I normally head in there between 11 AM - 2 PM and workout for 1-2 hours and I can say that I rarely have to wait for machines because there will probably be around 15-20 people there. I’m not too sure about the treadmills, but everytime I decide to run, I never have to wait for a treadmill either.

And as the above post stated, there is parking, but only for a short period of time. I rarely use it for that reason. I’d rather just go to the gym between a class break by foot since my car is so far away.
