Rec letter choice

I am transferring as an IR-econ major. I’ve already secured a letter from an IR professor who likes me a lot. I need one more, but I ant decide between the following two:

  1. Econ (stat) professor who likes me a lot, not tenure tracked, not a native speaker.
  2. IR professor who doesn’t like me as much, tenure tracked, native speaker and a good writer.

I’ve got an A in both classes.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. It’s because most schools allow 2 only.

With prof #2 I just wanted to clarify. Are you saying he dislikes you? Or just doesn’t notice you as much as #1?

Also are you doing this through the common app

The latter. I am doing this via common app.

Well it’s a tough question, but I’d probably pick #1 on the basis that it shows you did well in two types of classes. And then for the ones that allow more than 2 I’d submit all three.
