<p>My school DOES NOT do class rank and they only give out weighted gpa. Will most colleges take the time to recalculate the unweighted?</p>
<p>Yes, they will recalculate to find the UW GPA.</p>

<p>State universities that use GPA (as opposed to those that use class rank and disregard GPA like Texas) are more likely to have some standardized GPA calculation formula in the name of transparency, and in-state high schools are likely set up to report grades in a way that state universities expect.</p>
<p>Private universities are more likely to just eyeball high school transcripts as part of holistic reviews. E.g. “mostly A grades, took most of the APs available including English and Calculus”, or “mostly A grades, but did not take AP English and Calculus even though s/he could have at that high school”, etc…</p>
